they also did a remix of this great track, but that's the original. it was a william orbit side project. i remember collecting his guerilla record label discs by catalogue number. that was what us dj's did back then, made sure we had our records by certain labels by the catalogue number so we didn't miss a release. even if the track was shite. i have an excellent junior boys own collection due to this
I had the "In Dub" album, which was not really my idea of dub, but was a joy nonetheless.
They were cited as an influence by quite a lot of 90's dance acts too.
Good stuff, thanks for posting.
I preferred vocal tracks back then so after buying the Thunder single, I passed on the In Dub album, but hearing those In Dub songs now, they are pretty good.
talk about a blast from the past. probably a robber was my favourite
I used to also have this 12" with a slightly clubbier remix and a faster version of "Space Gladiator". Loved it.
yeah, i have the cd single somewhere. the remix was very different. those were the days before remixes were completly farmed out to every man and his dog to fart about with and release mixes that sound nothing like the song you bought

Many of us old farts prefer those days when a 12" gave you a dancier extended mix, dub version and that's it.

i liked lots of mixes, but i liked it when the mixes weren't made by some bloke who hated the song they were remixing. i also preferred cd singles for the nice clean sound, no clicks and hissing, and you could jump to the song you wanted by pressing a button. vinly was easier to mix with tho, until the good CDJ's came along and made mixing as easy as pressing a couple of buttons

I didn't like when the really good mix was on the promo only and not on the commercial release.

that was quite rare tho as the point of the 2x12" promos was to find the best mixes to release. but i was djing around then and there was a fascination to have the double pack 12" promos to make you sound cooler than the other dj's

The 2x12" trend came later in the 90s, but I remember specifically Janet Jackson's "Miss You Much" which relegated the awesome Shep Pettibone remixes to promo while the commercial 12" had the just adequate Mama Mix and Oh I Like That Mix. It took me awhile to find that promo at the time.
