male bellydance study

Also Egyptian Baladi / Middle Eastern music study

Hi Everyone!

I just saw this great YouTube video that has a wonderful male bellydancer. Male bellydancers are often under-represented in Middle Eastern dance. He is dancing to traditional Egyptian baladi. You can hear many characteristic beat combinations of Egyptian music. Also you can hear sudden and intense changes in Egyptian music as the song wanders from one section to another.

Sometimes I have fun trying to do various Middle Eastern dance moves to different kinds of music... old skool hip hop/electrobeat ("One for the Treble" by Davy DMX) ("The Soul" by Hashim) oh... and all sorts of New Funk!

Hope you all have a jiggle-icious day.

Nicole
