So, i finally got to check out this documentary! i have to say i have seen many docs on music groups. And i figured this would be good, but this went way WAY beyond what i expected!

For one! the movie had long discussions about how they made the music. They where not going to strip clubs, where not smoking weed and joking around. The guys where talking very extensive on how they came together and planned there music.

There is one scene where Q-Tip digging for records, going back to his house and showing how he did the beats! and showing how he made the drum sounds. I geeked the hell out of it for that aspect, it had a lot of great info and showed ore about Q-Tip....

Cause sometimes it seems Q is just a dick but this shows his POV on a lot of ideas and thing's that he liked and disliked in the groups time together

Any-who for you fans of tribe or hi-hop in general, i would say this is a must see!

I forgot all about that movie. I remember Tip and the director, Michael Rapaport had a disagreement about what was shown in the movie or something like that. So I take it that was much ado about nothing?

it was just okay to me. i'm pretty picky with docs. i was disappointed at the nature of Tip & Phife's beef. it seemed rooted in insecurities they both should have overcome a long time ago. more on Phife's part but Tip is culpable too. sit down and communicate like grown ups already. it definitely explained why/how Beats, Rhymes and Life & The Love Movement ruined their catalogues!

Now for a definitive De La doc! I'm revisiting Stakes Is High, classic ish!!! LOVE them brothas!

I saw this in the cinema when it was released. I thought it was very very good despite what any Tribe members may think. If you like A Tribe Called Quest, you have to see this movie.

I saw this a few weeks ago. Great docu. They went thru a lot of stuff on and offstage. Would have never known it back then.

And as much as I like Q-Tip and respect him, he's a major egomaniac. I've worked and played with many musicians like him..I can tell he's real difficult to work with.

I know Phife was a lil bitter at QTip following the dissolution of the group.

When Phife made his solo disc he talked about how the Love Movement cd

was anything but. He stated that QTip selfishly made solo songs for the

album behind his back and Phife stated that he wasn't no damn Mary Wilson.

Guess i have to go to Amazon.
