Well I think it helped his case when the "victim" refuse to testify against him. Therefore the jurors could not connect her with the tape. Since she was not cooperating. ohgoon He paid that girl and her family. That's how the poor are treated. You violate them then throw money at them to make them think they weren't really violated. Plus I think had she been white, the jurors wouldn't care about her "non-cooperation" and would have thrown his ass in prison. It was him on the tape and that girl sho nuff looked like a kid.

Wesley committed tax evasion, R. Kelly didn't pay taxes. There's a difference.

EDIT: But this is ridiculous. Dude has been dodging Uncle Sam for 7 years straight... confused and it's not like he doesn't have the money to pay up considering how high his taxes are each year so he's still making bank. Maybe, it's time to hire a new accountant. I think there are people who take advantage of the fact that he's functionally illiterate.

[Edited 6/14/12 14:33pm]

However it differs its still a trip that these rich folks either don't pay or try to avoid paying taxes and everyday folks deal with uncle sam always. Being illiterate has nothing to do with it-folks still know they gotta pay.

But for realz,

How you gonna be friends with Ronald Isley and not learn that you need to pay Uncle Sam his due??? They put Mr. Big in jail and you sittin' there acting like your gwap is too good to be taxed?

On the other hand....why doesn't the IRS just attach liens and garnish his shit like they do the regular people? They can get str8 gangstan and come in and take his home, cars, furniture and seize his accounts. Didn't they do that to Sammy Davis Jr.?

Well if they do seize Kelly's home, they will probably more than likely find more "evidence" of his hobbies. whistling At the end of that search, owing back taxes would be the least of his problems. How much you want to bet?

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

falloff Dream on and there's no 'evidence' of any hobbies.

and FYI, they would need a search warrant to do any type of search in the first place.

Oh so you been up in his house and know for certain? Notice I didn't say that there was, I said there probably would be more evidence, but I'm not certain. Just sayin'.

And BTW, when it comes to taxes, ain't nobody really waiting around for no search warrant. The IRS got it like that. We not talking about the FBI here.

Let's be real. R. Kelly isn't the one handling his own finances. He has accountants, financial advisers, lawyers, and the whole 9 that overlook his finances. It's their job to do everything in a timely manner so it could be that they're slacking. Idk. Just a guess. I mentioned his illiteracy because he's clearly not mentally capable of knowing about his own finances if he can't do simple math FFS.

BTW, I read that he paid $1 million last year so it's not like he's avoiding the tax lien. He's taking small steps it seems.

You hit the nail on the head. That's the problem. When celebs put too much TRUST in their staff handling their finances instead of them taking the time, or rather MAKING THE TIME to look at their own finances, since after all, they are the ones making this money. Why not take a look at your own books to see if they are adding up? Put that shit on your schedule to do it.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

So a video of him fucking someone patently very young and pissing on them isn't evidence?

Come on, the man is vile. He's notorious in his hometown for what he does. He obviously paid people off. He's composed the odd good song but nothing special, his voice is average. He's a delusional excuse for a man. Creepy beyond belief, and anyone who supports him is fucked up in the head.

Translation: The jury was predominantly white. Yeah, history shows us how sympathetic those types of jurys are to black men.

As for proof that he paid the girl shit her own family said it! Police went to question Rashonda and all of a sudden she and her family are in Europe for 2 monts. GTFOH! It's been reported that it took 6 years to even get Kelz to trial.

Common sense is worth a lot. You don't need copies of canceled checks to know that girl got bought off. Incidentally, she is in her early 20s now and the incident happend what 10 years ago now. Trial in 2008 based on an incident that happend in 2002? Maybe my math is off but that looks like 10 years from the time he got with that child.

You're 'just sayin' nothing, really. lol

That's only for common people like us. The 1% doesn't have to worry about the IRS going into their homes and taking their belongs. Did you not read the article? He has been dodging Uncle Sam for 7 YEARS; we couldn't get away with that. Besides R. Kelly is paying the tax lien. He's been paying millions for years now but there's obviously more he has to pay. That goes for any multimillionaire with high incomes. Just last year it was reported that Lil Wayne owned nearly $6 million in taxes.

I didn't say type up a paragraph of assumptions, I asked for proof. lol

Your math is more than a 'little' off, she's not in her early 20's, much older. Second, she and the family was already questioned. Third, it took 6 years to take the case to trial due to authorities gathering evidence, testimonies, etc.. Next time, know what you're talking about.

So anyway like I was saying before, if celebs would just check after their own personal finances they wouldn't be owing back taxes or that shit wouldn't be coming at such a surprise. If I can balance my checkbook every week or sometimes multiple times a week, then how come they can't take the time to be responsible enough to check their people?

While I don't support what he was accused of, I think some folks just separate what he does in his personal business with his profession. Myself personally, I don't buy his music because it's just okay and not worth buying, but thats just my opinion. I guess one can say that they like James Brown and a big fan of his music, but personally he was a woman beater. Does supporting his music mean that they support men beating on women too? shrug

R and his thing with Aaliyah still get's me though confused, a marriage certificate... is pretty much proof he HAS been with an underage girl before.

And on the extended version ''She's Got That Vibe'' when he say's cute little Aaliyahs got it confused i cringe when i hear that
