SOLANGE KNOWLES DECEIVED ME

Its a wig!!!!!

I appreciate her speaking out about her hair though. Seems that's all she's known for these days, aside from being Bey's baby sister.

Solange Knowles is loud and proud when it comes to speaking out about her natural hair.

And she’s not interested in what hair-obsessed haters think.

In a series of eleven tweets posted last week, the singer spoke out against those who bashed her less-than-perfect locks.

In an interview with Essence magazine, Knowles mentioned that she was showing off her natural curls these days.

But not everyone was liking what they saw.

Natural hair blogger Curly Nikki posted an excerpt from the June interview Knowles did in the June issue of Essence magazine -- and then the comments started.

"Natural hair can be VERY beautiful. Solange's hair is not. Even if she wore an afro, pick it out even or something. It always looks unkempt,” one person wrote. “Boo for not even trying to represent with her natural fro'ness,"

Others accused the singer of covering up her curls rather than taking the time to show them off.

"Solange wears 'natural' wigs more than she wears she own natural and when she does, it looks dry, unstyled and unshaped," another person wrote. "If she's truly proud of her natural look, she needs to get from under the wigs and work with her own hair."

Thursday, Knowles responded on Twitter, asking people to please stop wigging out.

“I've never painted myself as a team natural vice president. I don't know the lingo and I don't sleep with a satin cap,” she wrote.

"My hair is not very important to me…so I don't encourage it to be important to you.”

She also took issue with those that demanded she style her hair with ‘twist outs,” a look she doesn’t like.

“Connnnfesssioonnn: I HATE twist outs,” she wrote. “So I end up always picking them/steaming them out.”

In her interview with Essence, Knowles speaks about the "worthwhile journey" that is donning the natural look.

"Just because you're natural doesn't mean you'll be able to wash, shake and go. It's a lot of work," she said. "If it's something you truly feel strongly about and it's going to represent you in lifestyle, hair care and health, then it's a worthwhile journey to take."

Afro or not, she looks sexy as hell in that yellow dress. The 1st picture she reminds of MJ circa '77.

Putting on wigs are better than sowing or gluing some extensions to her head tho.

Damn I didn't know folks was hating this bad on her just because of her hair. That's stupid. Who cares if she wears her hair natural, weaves, wigs, colors it, perms it, bleaches it or whatever else you can do with your hair....its her hair! She should have the right to wear her hair however she sees fit. My goodness!

Folks these days are really starting to get preachy about this so-called "natural hair" revolution as if they are religious fanaticals. rolleyes

I'm proud to say that I use relaxers in my hair...it works for me and I go to a professional to get my hair done. shrug

I like how Solange wears her hair, it works for her and it's really becoming on her. I don't see what the problem is honestly.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

The funny thing is natural black hair isn't a chemically softened up asymetrical afro.

Wow! I see guys wearing that unkempt natural look all the time and I never hear anyone complaining about them. So, now there's a double standard when it comes to wearing your hair in it's natural state???

I think the more folks keep preaching about this particular hair style the more insane they sound. Like really, let Solange style her hair the way she likes lol

I like Solange and her style but I agree with this.

To be honest, I think people should be happy that she is trying to advocate the natural look whether its all hers or not.

However, majority of the time Solanges hair is not even natural. I guess for some people or her fans thats deceptive because she puts on that all her hair is natural when it isnt.

Ok the asymetrical part is correct but how do we know her hair texture is chemically altered? That might just be the natural texture. Her son's hair is very curly....like baby jheri curly and its naturally that way.

Black people have all types of hair but not many want to wear theirs nappy. Girls get perms on the regular and dudes are wearing doorags and wave caps 20 hours out of the day to avoid it!

Some folks get texturizers too thinking that, that is natural, when in fact its not. It's still a perm, just not as harsh as a relaxer.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
