First Jada needs to stop letting this child put all this weird shit in her hair disbelief second not everything has to have a black version. Annie needs to stay a lil white girl-I like her that way.

Ridiculous indeed- as somebody said will n jada need to let these kids be kids for now-they have enough money. Annie is a classic n should be left alone.

Hip-hop. It's not enough that they sample music, now these mofo's sampling movies. Call it something else (Aiesha?) and I won't hate on it, but leave Annie alone.

I don't care what anyone says, "The Karatre Kid" was a very good movie and Jaden Smith was very good in it!

"Whip My Hair" was a sensation when it came out.

That being said, whether they SHOULD be in a position to be good at these things is another story.

We've read all the Tatum O'Neal, Drew Barrymore and Michael Jackson stories to give us pause.

Why didn't it give Will and Jada any?

Actually The Karate kid movie wasnt good, first off it wasnt even karate in the movie lmao! Jaden doesnt know how to act, compare him to any other actor at that age who was a childstar and he's below average. He only got that role because of his dad, there's no problem with that but saying the kid is "good" is far from the truth.

Whip my hair is a stupid song and it was only a sensation because she was 10 years old? It got hype by some people, but I'm pretty sure nobody remembers it.

I'm not a hater of the Smiths, but these kids should go to school and at least learn how to sing, act and perform(if thats what they want to do), there are very good schools if you dont have it natural. ( I dont know why you mentioning Mike Jackson in this, but he was probably the most talented childstar of the past 60 yrs) smile

They need to let their children be children.I also think it's wrong that Katherine Jackson is allowing Michael's daughter to do 'Oprah' interviews and a new movie. What's the rush?? If these kids want to pursue acting, let them do it when they become adults! For now, they should be in school, learning something. It's not cool the way these parents are pimping their children into showbusiness.

I was hesitant to mention Michael because every time I'm just the littlest bit critical of him I get berated, belittled and marginalized. But my statement stands.

In an effort to be as middle of the road as possible I'll just state the obvious; Michael was a woefully unhappy individual and fame was the cause. There's no way anyone can tell me that THAT level of fame( a level everyone seems to be reaching for) and worshipful, crazy fans don't have their negative affects.

In that respect his fate is no different then the other child stars I've mentioned, and you can add many others. (Willy Ames, Gary Coleman, Corey Feldman, Corey Haim, Dana Plato etc.)

mj was very clear as to what the cause of his unhappiness was. it wasn't the fame per se, as much as it was the sacrifice of his childhood, in service to others. jodi foster is only a little younger than mj. she has been an actress since she was six or so. i believe she was nominated for an oscar for her role in taxi driver at 13 or 14, just as tatum o'neal was for paper moon at 9 or 10.

but jodi's childhood was not sacrificed for the sake of greedy stage parents like joe and katherine who didn't see mj as their son, but as their golden goose. it only got worse as time went on b/c then he had to carry brothers, sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews, etc. you can say the same for michael and dina lohan, gary coleman's parents, etc. these people use their kids to support them and their extravagant lifestyles, and that simply isn't the proper order of things. brooke shields also had a crazy stage mom, but even terri stepped back and supported brooke when she went to princeton. brooke's career took a backseat during those years (and brooke was very hot when i was a teenager). same thing with jodi. she went to yale and got an education and came back to acting afterwards. her "momager" supported that. that's not the case with tatum o'neal; her parents were fucking nightmares from what i know about her life.

i think that's what separates mj (and others like him) from jodi and his friend brooke. it's not so much the fame or success, as not having people around you who care about your well-being, which is even worse when these people are your own parents.

Oh I hear that, but people are claiming the same things with Jada and Will, two people who obviously don't have to have golden gooses for survival.

Will and Jada have stated numerous times that their kids choose to do this but people ask, how on earth can a child with two adult parents choose anything when it comes to a career?

Wouldn't Willow had been better off not tasting worldwide success for her FIRST song? She can (and has) only go downhill from there.

Would Jaden be better off not having worldwide success with a starring role in The Karate Kid at 11?

I'm sure they're very supportive parents (some say too supportive) but you wonder how much thought they've put into it especially in light of all the child star disasters that have happened in the past and currently (Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears...)
