Al Capone is a different song. Chicago 1945 is the early demo to Smooth Criminal and also the storyline behind the Smooth Criminal video

I've always said the same thing. "Groove of Midnight" to me might not have been completed by Michael. I really think he was only laying down vocals for Siedah's version. Buffalo Bill was completed for sure and so was Tomboy. I agree with you about "Crack Kills" being just an idea that never came to flourish.

That's just what the article says.. it could be wrong, but "Al Capone" might be a different early verion of "Smooth Criminal".

It's possible that it COULD have some sort of link to Smooth Criminal but I take it with a grain of salt because when the "Michael" album came out, people thought "Hollywood Tonight" was the alternate title for "Do You Know Where Your Children Are", which leaked about 2 weeks before the album.

Both Al Capone and Chicago 1945 are "early versions" of smooth criminal.. but are both completely different songs in their own right.. think streetwalker and dangerous.

i feel bad for bashing the tracklist/release earlier.. i was a bit upset about the remixes/6 new songs.. then i sat back and thought about what all we are getting.. we are getting a beautiful boxset. whether you get the deluxe or the collectors, they are both beautiful.. we are getting 2 booklets of never before seen photos of michael working in the studio and other things. the original album remastered, with some songs in their original mix 6 new never before heard songs. Bad Wembley stadium concert dvd, with twymmf from the prevoius night which the esteate was kind enough to give us. a documentary by spike lee with never before seen footage and never before heard stories. a live cd from the bad tour.
thats amazing! im so excited.

That's nice. I think I can kind of understand why they don't want to release too many unreleased tracks at once. I think by just releasing small amount of unreleased tracks at a time, each song gets to be appreciated and valued more..by fans and the general public as well. I definitely want to hear every single one of MJ's song that has ever been recorded even if it's just a demo but at the same time, I'm sure not all of them are that great, in other words, worth paying money for..I'm not saying the ones Sony/Estate picked out for the album got to be the finest but I think they were at least considered more commercial and likable than the others...and hopefully the rest unreleased songs can just leak soon. I'll be patient. [Edited 8/8/12 0:57am]

There HAS to be some kind of demo to Groove of Midnight. Maybe it was never finished, but a demo should definitely exist. Rod Temperton and Siedah Garrett would know for sure. Wish there was a way we could find out.
Again we are left wondering about Buffalo Bill. If it wasn't released with this package, I'm not sure when or if we'll ever get to hear it. That's ashame considering what MJ and Frank Dileo have said about it.

I agree. | |

I'm sure there is some sort of demo to Grove of Midnight but I think it's nothing but backing vocals and adlibs for Siedah's version. That's just what I think.
Buffalo Bill will be released, but I think it will most likely be on 2013's album. It feels like they know we want that record but they're making us wait for it. I just hope it's not a big let down.

I just hope they're untouched. I'm sure they're great records regardless. I just wish Quincy and Bruce would've been a part of this

I wonder how long Temperton was considered to work on the BAD album. How much if any studio time was done.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I don't think Rod's work was in the direction BAD was going in.

I'd love to hear Rod's vocal demos for the tracks he wrote for MJ.

Hell yeah! I also wanna hear the song MJ wrote for the Richard Pryor movie The Toy. He said it was going to be released but it was cutting too close to the recording with Thriller so he scrapped it. He said he did do a demo for it though.

Buffalo Bill is finished, and will most certaintly be released one day.. theres to much hype around it for it not to be. i hope the tracklist for the next album is something like Buffalo Bill A Place With No Name Lucy is in love with Linus Bottle of Smoke I am a Loser Broken Chair Red Eye Edgar Allen Poe He Who Makes the sky Grey Lady of Summer Llama Lola
i really love the titles, i think they are very interesting.. i dream of what they must sound like.

With song titles like that, I feel like this would be the Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band of the Michael Jackson canon :O Purple is the color of my heart,

hahah, i know right! a lot of michaels unreleased songs have really unique titles, which make me want to hear them even more! when do yall think the next album will be released.. obviously not 2012, because we are getting bad 25 , but possibly 2013 or 2014.. i wish they would put up a list on the MichaelJackson website and let the fans choose some of the songs for the next release, much like they did for the this is it setlist.. that would be cool.

not sure if this was brought up yet, but i wonder if the Dont be Messin around that will be featured on cd 2 is the "beautiful ballad" that bruce swedien talks about.. the song was reworked from the thriller era, to the bad era.. and from my understanding the dangerous era.. just a thought
