I wish it was a full performance

Ernie Isley is an unsung hero of rock music. Real talk. Couldn't imagine how guitar music would've sounded without him, Santana, Page and Hendrix (and why he's not included alongside Santana, Page and Hendrix is something I still don't get, the Isleys was just as popular as Santana was then).

Now you know Sista Franklin's BIG EGO wasn't havin' it. Though I have a cousin and a church parishioner that can cook some fried chicken.... Franklin couldn't touch them with all the free Crisco in the world.

Totally agree.

I think he's very well respected by fellow guitarists & critics alike..but not so much in the broad public's consciouness.

Unlike the other 3 you mention, he spent most of his career "buried" behind his brothers (bein part of "the band") and didn't get the same attention as their flashy solos, etc. Might have been a bit of Rock vs. R & B taste bias / snobbery, too....

I dunno. Fame can be a fickle thing. I'm just glad he's at least gotten SOME of the props he deserves (RRHOF, etc) and that we've got a load of his recorded output to enjoy, because Ernie is FIERCE.

He's suposedly has been working on a solo follow-up to "High Wire" for a few years now. Would be cool if that gets out.

Yeah. But I think that's been indefinitely put on hold since he's back playing for his ailing brother.
