Chris Brown channels Prince in new song "Sweet Love" I'm not the biggest Chris Brown fan but this song has such a Prince-vibe I like it. It also samples "The beautiful ones."

This may be construed as an " old folks " attack and or snob reply but seriously, compare a true ballad like this...
To what Chris sang, end of story and debate. I'm a man so I know I'm not Chris's target audience but that is song is kiddie shit, they can't write them like they used to.

They definitely stole the piano stab from The Beautiful Ones
but...the song still sucks. The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Chris Brown couldn't channel Prince if he had a DirectTV satellite dish shoved up his twizzat! When  go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all  up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! | |

I don't like it.
Something about "legs over your head" as I recall.
"The Beautiful Ones" is such an original and so defined by it's creator that no one will do justice to it.

I liked the days when Chris Brown had a smidge of a semblance of squeaky cleanness.

Chris aint NEVER gonna be on MJs throne. It's reserved for one king only. This song is bad and sounds very "plastic", it's not innovative at all. If Chris wants to get some respect, sit home for a year and try to invent new melodies and arrangements (perhaps learn an instrument?) for your music, instead of sampling Michael, Prince and Stevie and all the other people his producers always sample. Musically there's no difference between this song and some songs from Justin Biebers album. At first I wasn't going to listen to this song in its entirety once I saw that he was trying to "channel" Prince. So, about a minute into listening to this song my dog got up and walked to the other side of the room (my guess is to avoid the noise that is Chris Brown).
I have heard dozens, perhaps hundreds of songs that sound exactly like this in the past 10 years or so. I like a few of Chris Brown's songs but find him to be insanely overrated. He's a cute guy (sans the tattoos) so I can't blame the teenyboppers for liking him but he's woefully unoriginal vocally...it's like he's some guy that they said they'd "make into a singer" rather than find someone who actually could sing or had musical talent....I think he's an incredible dancer, like for hip hop dancing...but his fame like many others (Rihanna, Nicki M, etc.) baffles me considering how one-dimensional and manufactured they are...
