Guns N' Roses ban fans from wearing...

Guns N' Roses ban fans from wearing Slash t-shirts to their UK gigs:

The division between Guns N' Roses' current line-up and their former members is well documented, with the fallout between singer Axl Rose and guitarist Slash particularly infamous.

However, the current line-up's management team have taken extreme steps to distance themselves from their classic version, by banning anyone coming to their UK tour from wearing a Slash t-shirt.

Is that even legal? confused

proof (another one) that Axl Rose is a big piece of wacko ass shit

I would wear an Slash t-shirt as underwear, and then, once I was inside, I would proudly show it to that asshole, and then he would yell his utterly famous line "securityyyyy!!!"

asshole

Ironically they're not even doing well on their UK tour. Fans walked out on them for showing up three hours late to a gig in Manchester. A day after they had told fans not to wear Slash shirts, they got pelted with some shit when performing at the o2. I read Axl needs an oxygen tank to help him perform onstage now. neutral

Sorry to spoil your little Axl bashing party guys, but this story is total bullshit. I was at that gig and saw a number of people quite freely walking around the arena in Slash t-shirts.

And Gn'R management has said that no such orders were given to venue security.

It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:

^ I've yet to see GNR management denying reports that they imposed this bizarre rule on the news column for them unless I missed it. Ask James Reville (or whatever his name is) why he told people this. Apparently GNR have done this before...allegedly.

Axl is THE fucking douche confused

He has had issues with people wearing Slash shirts for awhile, but to ban it? bitch please.

Slash, Duff, matt.. hell even Steve ar out living there life. And still doing well, Axl and his half-ass GNR are still just fucking shit up. Always late, playing short gigs, sometimes long.... and throwing around dumbass rules confused

It maybe true or not, but Axl has sponken openly that he highly dislikes people wearing Slash shirts at concerts. Bitter old red-headed queen.

I'm so glad i didn't get tickets to the O2 show, i very nearly did. They came on stage at 10.45pm, what a fucking joke, the only way to get to the venue is by train and they stop running at about 11.30ish so you either see the full show and try to get home at 2 in the morning or leave after half an hour. I now refuse to give him any of my money. the only way he'll stop is if no one bought a ticket but the shows are sold out. people know what he's like but they'll buy a ticket and then bitch and moan when he's late. easy. don't buy a fucking ticket. cool

Hmmm, well you've got a point there that people shouldn't go and buy a ticket and then whine when it finishes late like everyone warned them it would.

By the way, trains were chartered by the o2 on thursday night/friday morning until 2.30 am. I presume that this was doen with some contribution from the Guns camp (whether they liked it or not...)

Timmy84 - I take back what I said about the official denial, the one I was thinking about turned out to be about the same story which was floated about a gig in Canada in 2010.

But I stand by the fact that I saw loads of people in Slash gear at the gig on Thursday.

I also stand by the fact that the gig was completely awesome. Nearly three hours of solid rock from one hell of a band.

And, in case any of you actually care about what REALLY happened, Izzy stradlin came on for a few songs, including '14 Years', 'You Could Be Mine' and 'Dead Flowers'.

I guess some folks thought "bullshit" and got in anyway if that was the case but I wouldn't put it past Axl to do some sheisty shit like this. Except for Izzy and Steven, he ain't doing anything with the other GNR members and is probably pissed that Slash is still popular (more than he and his band is, which is quite funny when you think about it) that he can't even hide the fact that he hates most of his original band mates' guts. Izzy reunited with him at the o2 and so far seems to be really the only member willing to do some performances for some reason.

You mean Izzy and Duff, right? (Duff had cameoed at a few Guns shows in the past 18 months. As with Slash, Axl has some major beef with Steven. It soesn;t help that Steven keeps running his mouth off about Axl in the press.

And I don't accept that Slash is more popular than Axl. Slash may get more positive press, but the New Guns is playing much bigger venues than Slash and his band, at least here in Europe. By way of comparison, Guns just played 2 close to sell out nights at the 20,000 capacity o2 here in London, while next week slash is playing one show at the 5,000 capacity Hammersmith Apollo.

Yeah I meant Duff lol I'm guessing I meant "prolific" for Slash. GNR probably still get sell out shows due to their 1987-1991 reputation still.

I saw GNR in 06 before Chinese Democracy came out and i have to say it was a great concert, he came on at 9.30 and went off at 12.15. Izzy came on then to, for My Michelle and 14 Years. the only down side was the endless solo spots.
