I am insanely excited about this album!!

She has an album called:

When the pawn hits the conflicts he thinks like a king
What he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight
And he'll win the whole thing 'fore he enters the ring
There's no body to batter when your mind is your might
So when you go solo, you hold your own hand
And remember that depth is the greatest of heights
And if you know where you stand, then you know where to land
And if you fall it won't matter, cause you'll know that you're right

lol

I love Fiona but at the same time, i hope she has her head out of her ass by now. I mean i get the whole "down on the industry" "i hate my label" blah blah blah.....but that still is not an exucse to not record music, or when you do shows, not show up or walk off stage and never reschedule it (yes she has done that a few times) that doesnt make you a rebel, it makes you a prick. So im hoping she delivers more than just a good album, i hope she has matured as a person and grown up

So long to wait...I think I'm getting the Deluxe and the Vinyl too. cool Hooked the turntable yesterday. biggrin Too bad they didn't include the whole concert. I guess It's because she's touring...CynicKill I agree she should write a book of poetry. There aren't many who write like her. Just brilliant stuff. DVD live 2012 Tour then I'll be happy as HELL. razz

Maybe the reason for the long CD titles. Her Long asS name: Fiona Apple McAfee Maggart

I can't wait to hear "Left Alone"...Fiona always brings it.

Really I can't co-sign your whining about concert stuff. For all you know she was sick those days. How would you feel if when you were sick and needed to leave work early or call-in, to get the kind of reaction you're giving now?

She's not obligated to jump up off her ass and spit out a cd every year just because you want her to.

Besides - she says she uses those years to actually...LIVE...which...is where she gets inspiration from in order to....put out more music in the first place.

You have some weird, totally unjustified, sense of entitlement.

She's a musician, not your slave.

sorry but i dont kiss an artists ass when they do something shitty just because they make good music and albums, they deserve to called out just as much as someone i dont like. ENTITLEMENT, sorry dude but if i pay for a show and you get all pissy with someone in the crowd taking pics (in this day and age) and pissy with your sound guy and WALK OFF dont come back and then refunds are NOT GRANTED or a show made up sorry but thats not about entitlement, thats just being a spoiled brat plain and simple, and plenty of GOOD artists have done this, doesnt mean they should get a pass, because they are talented.

And try reading the POST next time, i said nothing about her doing music or taking time between albums, i said enough of the blaming your time of NOT RECORDING on your label, which is BS straight up BS, in this day and age, if you want to get music out you can, there are so many ways to do it, ask all the lame wack rap artists who do mix tapes and give em from free, it can be done.

I love her no matter what, but I understand what you're saying. I've never witnessed those actions when she performed here In NY and I've seen her everytime she's been here except the the two show she did here recently because of stupid scalpers and their inflated prices. Thank god I got to see the shows via youtube. I even made a dvd of the shows.biggrin Where did she miss shows? I thought It was just one in DC and that was made up.

Why should I read a post from someone who apparently is borderline illiterate and can't form a coherent sentence?

I didn't read ninety percent of the above post, either. I stand by what I said. Just because you spent a few fucking dollars on a cd and a concert ticket, doesn't make her your field slave to demand that she sign her brains out even if she's under the weather and can't do it that day, or take abuse, or anything else.

Just like you'd want that same level of human decency and respect, Fiona deserves it too, and just because a lot of folks know her name, doesn't make her exempt from that.

It's shitheads like you that make a lot of artists not want to tour and hate their fans. By all means, jump out of Fanclub Fiona NOW, because we don't want you, and I'm fairly certain Fiona wouldn't either.

Fuck off.

What the hell is there to 'understand' about someone throwing a tantrum when another person has a legitimate reason for cancelling or ending a show?

That makes about as much sense as saying that it's okay to slam the shit out of someone for calling in sick and not showing at work because they have the flu.

It's weird to me that people actually expect musicians to be superhuman cyborgs and do nothing but perform for them and be 'on', all the damn time just because they threw a few bucks at them. So, if you're a cashier at a store does that entitle everyone who comes through your lane to shout orders at you or demand you lie down and spread your legs?

Idiots.

Fiona Apple Faces Outward

June 1, 2012

Fiona Apple was angry. Very angry. “Angry, angry, angry,” as she put it during a long, unguarded conversation on a Friday afternoon in SoHo.

About a year and a half ago, after she had completed the album she’ll release on June 19 — a collection of stripped-down, percussive songs that’s as passionate, smart and cutting as anything she’s done — Ms. Apple got so angry that she started walking up and down a hill near her home in Venice, Calif.
