They've been around since the late 1970's. John Lennon thought Rock Lobster was influenced by Yoko. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. The video is fun.
They really broke through to the mainstream with this song. I miss the edgier new wave sound on earlier records, but can't deny that the Cosmic Thing album is near perfect from start to finish. | |
