As a sidenote: I'm kind of sad at the thought of this song being her last hit ever. It doesn't even sound like her and is so lacklustre. Tim could've given this to anyone.

Tina and Cher have both had huge hits and tours years after people thought they were gone. Madonna's will to stay relevant will probably give her at least another major hit.

I know Cher was 53 when "Believe" became a worldwide smash, but that doesn't happen very often.Let's be honest....how many artists who are above 50,are still getting alot of radio airplay in America? I hate to be so negative, but I think "4 Minutes" could very well be her last 'major' single.Fortunately for her,she has found other ways to make a fortune and remain relevent.

I agree with what you are saying though she looks better than Cher did even that time.

I also find it funny people say comebacks over 40 don't happen and "no one did what J LO did" when Madonna had successful singles from Music in the top 5 including a #1 at exactly her age right now.

I think the way Madonna can get another major single is to make a song where it's not obviously an older person. GMAYL's opening line is a major channel switcher for kids. And for GGW it's obvious the singer's no "girl". That's why I think Believe did so well. If you didn't know any better you'd think it was a young man, at least I did lol

Anyone on Idol can make a comeback.

If Madonna would have had a single half as brilliant as hung up to introduce with the superbowl she could have had a #1. Oh well...

those singles exist on the album. not sure why she's promoting this project with the 3 most lacklustre tracks on the whole album.

nod If she would have released the more edgy tracks on the album as singles this entire campaign would be entirely different.

Yup, there's stronger stuff on there than those three. Maybe Madge just wanted an excuse to wear the cheerleader outfit. lol

lol She does. I really do wish Gang Bang was the song she did at the superbowl. I could see so much coming out of performing it

it was Super Bowl synergy. according to the Interscope guys at one of the listening parties, they wanted other singles, but Madonna insisted on GMAYL.

which would have been fine as a teaser, but it didn't need to be a full-fledged single (or what passes for one in this day and age). imagine if it had been left as a primer for the week before the SB, and that the true lead single had been "I'm Addicted" the day after the Super Bowl ("MDMA, MDNA, MDMA, MDNA" heralding her return AND the album title, rather than the corny "L-U-V MADONNA" chant). In fact, GMAYL should have been left as a deluxe edition bonus track to generate more heat for that version of the album.

then follow it up with "Gang Bang" as the balls-out attention getter in late April with a Tarentino-esque video to keep the heat going (since she doesn't get any airplay anyway), THEN maybe go for "Turn Up The Radio" (if they must) for the summer. Or alternately "I Don't Give A" (which would, sonics-wise, work better as a summer single). And then "Love Spent" as the tour hits US shores in the late summer/fall.

These are your logical singles from MDNA in 2012.

I agree. When she first came up with Hung Up at the Europe Music Awards '05, it was BOMBASTIC. Confessions sold about 2 million copies in Europe in no-time (think it was about a week or so). It was mesmerizing to see her doing Hung Up in that performance. If she would have used (does this exist?, sorry) a BOOM song for the Super Bowl, this might have happened.

The singles GMAYL and Turn up the radio are too childish-Disney like, GGW is too dancy-sexy generic-Rihanna/Guetta. None of these singles feels like the true Madonna we know and love. I agree 4 Minutes did either, but at the time, US, and then the world, would eat anything with the Timbaland/Timberlake flavour. If she would've picked one song for a lead single and performed it at the SuperBowl, any MDNA song would've had a chance? Of course, at least to me, SOME of them (Beautiful Killer, Bang Gang, Love Spent, Falling Free) are great true Madonna songs, but any of these songs could've had the strenght to place itself #1 on today's US?

Interesting campaign project. I'm not sure if Love Spent would've the strenght to be a single. Maybe if she'd go to the TV (what really makes sales in the US today, EVEN I know it, Guy Oseary hello??) and played it, or any of the singles that she actually chose, things could've been totally diferent singles-wise. And then, albums-wise, since it's the singles that keep the albums going (Oseary?).

If she sat on Letterman and played on the guitar Love Spent - LIVE OF COURSE - , it could even be a single (like was the case for Don't tell me, which hit #4). Or even the three weak songs she selected, if she would play them in massive popular shows, and, perhaps, focus more on singing (cause yes, she can manage to sing, we know that) and less on doing circus dancing things. Because, stopping to think, a LOT of the negativity towards her SB performance was about her lip syncing. Even I, as a fan, was annoyed by it.
