Leroy "Sugargoot" Bonner is a true musician. The man is just an excellent guitarist who can play with any type of musical backdrop it seems. He doesn't get as much due for his level of musicianship as he should. Not only is he a great guitarist, but he's a good harmonica player as well. He's tough. he could mix it up and play hard rock solos, jazzy solos, throw in some soul, and a whole lot of funk... ...
i've often thought that a lot of prince's jazzy solos are influenced by sugarfoot... and prince's guitar solo from "loose" is the guitar solo from "fire"... the man rips it, fo' sho'... Mr. Ellis Dee-licious, the Official NPGigolo

Leroy "Sugarfoot" Bonner is the man!
He can tear up a guitar with the best of them, & his "vocal inflections" on the OP recordings of the 70s are very distinctive, especially on a song like "I want to be free" "aw garl!" I'll see you tonight..
