How High Do You Rate Stewart Copeland...

As far as all time drummers go?

I USED to play drums keyword there lol sadly it has been awhile....

I remember i was fascinated by his playing as a youngin, and even today as i went to work i was listening to Regatta De Blanc. And thought man this sounds better today to me! verses 5 years ago.

Dude hungout with a lot of jazz cats growing up so that's where the jazzy side come's and than in the 70's he started hanging out with punk & reggae artists. All that gave him a wild mix of jazz, reggae & punk rock. I think his drumming is very unique & he play's nearly every song different than the last. Unlike most drummers

I hardly consider myself knowledgeable about drummers but he was certainly one of the more interesting drummers of the late seventies/early eighties. Kind of a waste that he mostly restricted himself to recording soundtracks after the Police split.

Higher than Travis Barker. Way higher than Meg White. But not as high as Dave Grohl.

LoL...that's off the top of my head because of those I've seen play lately.

Very underrated film/soundtrack composer and rock solid drummer. Check out the work he did as Klark Kent.

For his work with the Police, he was in the top 10 rock drummers of his generation. The symbols work in "Walking on the Moon" is brilliant and so subtle. His later work is hit or miss for me.

Always dug his drumming. He's a great, versatile player. I even like his guitar/bass playing too.
