For you chart fans (doing it before ASG): #1 is Lambert, #2, Adele, #3 Carrie, #4 Norah Jones, #5 Tenacious D The #1 album of this week, Adam Lambert's "Trespassing" sold 77,815 copies this week, this is just from the HITS sales so who knows how much it would actually sell on Soundscan.
Adele's "21" still pushed more than 60,032 to maintain her #2 position (damn how many weeks that is?).
Carrie dropped from #1 to #3 with 52,553. Norah Jones' album, "Little Broken Hearts" did 46,842 for a #4 position, while Tenacious D's "Rise of the Fenix" did 46,588 so Norah's album beat it barely.
Only a 17,783 difference from #1 and #2. From what I read, it's possible the #1 album had front loaded sales, so expect a massive drop.
Here's the top ten albums according to HITS:
CHART DATE: 05/21/2012
---- Jack White's "Blunderbuss" is currently #12 with sales of 23,295. I don't think I bought it in the week this was posted but I sure will be part of the copies for the next week chart tally. | |

Adam is only the third non-American Idol to score a #1 album besides Clay & Daughtry right? | |

Yup. | |

Adam is also the first out and proud gay man to top the charts, or so says the blogs. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything. | |

Wow. Congrats to him. | |

Yeah, considering there was really little activity after Mother's Day, his label put the album out at the right time lol
I'm reading John Mayer may be the next one to do over 100,000 in next week's chart. Adele may still be #2 and Carrie may see a boost from her recent appearances. [Edited 5/22/12 13:51pm] | |

Shows you how much I listen to my radio. | |

I don't listen to the radio like that either but I know what's a hit and what's not just by looking at MediaBase. | |

Well I stopped listening to the radio eons ago. Don't worry, I don't think his songs were successful. | |

i actually don't mind the Adam Lambert album, good pop music and kinda gutted i'm not going to see him with Queen, but i am not paying the prices they're charging. way too high.

Yeah i cant do it, i dont mind Queen doing this, but i feel like its a step way down, if it was one of their peers, elton or george michael or someone that is at least more about music than the "showboating" though Freddie may have been a showman it didnt overshadow his music, not saying Adam cant sing or perform but he is like a 6th grader hanging with college grads.
