Chris Brown’s Billboard Performance Slammed By Pink And Carey Hart

May 21st, 2012 // Leave a Comment
pink chris brown

Pink may not have attended the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, but that didn’t stop her from vocalizing her thoughts on the performances. Though the pop star said Carrie Underwood sounded “lovely” and revealed that she liked Justin Bieber‘s single “Boyfriend”, Pink was no fan of Chris Brown‘s “Turn Up The Music”.

“One day if i lipsync i hope i do it as well as him,” tweeted Pink of Brown’s performance, before being immediately attacked by his legion of fans. (We guess they didn’t have to read in between the lines too much to figure out she was talking about Breezy?) “Oh my lord, its so easy…its so damn easy,” she tweeted in response. “Keep it coming people, this is some good reading.”

Pink’s husband, motorcross racer Carey Hart, also lambasted Brown’s number. “Im pretty sure I saw my wife did that same performance, but she was 3 months pregnant and actually sang the song,” said the singer’s husband, before addressing a fellow biker: ”If any of your guys are riding on Chris Brown performance, please fire them.”

Many thought Hart was referring to Katy Perry‘s performance, which appeared to channel Pink’s high-flying “Glitter In The Air” number at the 2010 Grammys (as well as her own Grammy performanc... Movies”). But that wasn’t the case, as Hart was talking about his wife’s performance of “Raise Your Glass” at the 2010 American Music Awards, which, like Brown’s number, also employed BMX bikers and a skate ramp.

“For the record; I luv me some Katy, so y’all can jump off that run away train, k?” tweeted Pink, adding, “I stand behind, always have and always will, LIVE SINGING.”

“To clarify I was talkin trash bout CB performance, 2 years ago my wife had the same set and actually sang ‘Raise ur Glass,” tweeted Hart, though it appears he’s talking about Katy now.

“Looks like someone else’s fans got a bit wound up!” he tweeted, referring to Perry’s Katy Cats, who also got their claws out at Hart’s tweets. “Funny, that performance looked real familiar [too].”

Chris Brown has surprisingly stayed tight-lipped on the matter, though he did tweet this cryptic message: “Don’t hold ya breath waiting for me to stop doing me!” We stopped holding our breaths long ago, Chris.

I think P!nk, like many folks, is just reacting that way towards Chris because of the shit he's done (RiRi, the GMA stunt, the situation with the fan who took his photo, etc.). If he wants to carry himself like an asshole, she's probably saying "He ain't gettin' no respect from ME!" I remember a couple of years ago when he performed on Dancing With The Stars, none of the pros or celebs wanted to be in the same room with him, and even co-host Tom Bergeron hardly wanted to introduce him.

From what I remember she gave a piss poor performance at the AMA'a that year.

What's the difference in giving a lip-synced performance as to giving one where people wished you had?

I like P!nk, but I don't like how people all of a sudden, after all these years of me criticizing lip-syncing, now getting all high and mighty about it because Chris Brown is immature and publicly unapologetic.

I am getting tired of his lip-synced performances, but if I were a musician I would NEVER publicly slam another artist. And if I didn't criticize lip-syncing in the past I sure as hell wouldn't now just because it's Chris Brown.

P!nk has been bitching about lipsynching for YEARS. Nothing new. I'd rather hear shitty live vocals than canned ones.

Ok then I give her props, but it's gotten ridiculous. Now there's a whole "controvery" over Chris Brown lip-syncing at the damn Billboard awards, the awards that matter least.

Where were all these "musicians" when Britney Spears lyp-sanc through her entire career.

Janet Jackson.

Many others.

Just when I think I'm done defending Chris Brown for the assinine way he carries himself, along come the self righteous who can't wait to start trending topics on anything, and I do mean anything he does.

And I ask this; who wants to hear an authetic version of "Turn Up The Music"? It's a dance number where everyone expects to SEE a show. Don't blame him for the state of pop music today. You can go all the way back to the birth of MTV.

But yeah I give he was boring. I guess there's no defending that.

LMAO! I love P!nk! She's totally right though. Both CB and Katy's performances were done by her years before this show. If I was P!nk, I wouldn't have slammed either one of them. Nah, my tweet to them would have been like this: @Katyperry and @Breezy...next time, let me know which of my old performances you would like to jock so I can take a pee break and get some popcorn during ur spotlight time, oh and; you're welcome smile.' The truth isn't meant to be pretty...or nice. biggrin

I liked Katy's new song better than the one she did at the AMAs...that one made me want to talk to someone about my feelings; was a tad bit depressing for me. Her dress looked gorgeous as she accepted her award and let the audience know that she and her 84 year old grandmother would be doing shots after the show...now that's thoughtful and classy right there. lol She's my guilty pleasure...I just love her. mushy

As for the rest of that, um show:

I was a bit creeped out by the Usher non-look-alike (seriously who the fuck was he trying to fool?). The performance was good otherwise and he made a chick disappear....bet he wishes he could do that to his ex-wife. Ooh shit did I just say that out loud; haha yep I did giggle

LMFAO songs are catchy as hell...but those dudes still freak me the fuck out. boxed

Natasha Bedingfield's awful performance of 'Last Dance' forced them to cut short the Donna Summer tribute..at least that's what I chose to believe.

John Legend did a nice job with 'The Greatest Love Of All'. Jordin Sparks singing IWALY as a tribute to Whitney... confused WHY?...oh and I think Jennifer Hudson is the only one capable of pulling off IWALY decently...just my twocents

Justin Bieber's performance was actually pretty good...his acceptance speech, not so much. This is why kids should stay in school..or hire better acceptance speech writers. Money doesn't make a person smart; it just means that person can afford to pay smart people to think for them or screw them over, whichever. nod

Chris Brown can move his body in magical ways, looks yummy without his shirt on, and didn't say a damn thing the whole performance...if I wasn't afraid he'd beat the dog shit outta me, I'd say he was the perfect man. Oooh too soon. lurking

I love Cee-Lo! Great performance with a very awesome tribute to MCA. That one-legged Cirque de Soliel dancer was probably the most talented performer in the entire show...the truth hurts sometimes.

Why does Stevie want to hear Alicia Key's sing 'Empire State'? Stevie is from Michigan. confuse Seriously, I don't wanna see Alicia butcher any Stevie songs...what is this fuckery all about? Stevie, sweety, you don't need any help singing any of your classics...especially not from her. hmph!

Kelly Clarkson looks awesome...and sounds even better.

The Wanted...not wanted by me. Return of the Boy Bands...it's gonna be one of those years disbelief

Nelly got HUUUUGGEEE...'the bigger the better'...I guess shrug

Why is Miley Cyrus wearing just a coat with big shoulder pads? Seriously, what happened to this child's pants?

Bobbi Kristina is like Alexa Ray Joel. Doesn't matter how gorgeous their mothers looked. When your daddy is Billy Joel or Bobby Brown you will NOT look like her. It's mean but it's the truth...that child does not look like Whitney.AT.ALL. Her speech was beautiful and it's good to see her doing well after losing the most important person in her life. May she continue on a positive path and thank the lawd for trust funds...just sayin'.

I'm just happy Adele won bunches...and had the common sense not to waste her time going to or performing at this hot mess of an awards show. This just proves how extremely smart this woman truly is. This is all just my twocents so no harm no foul. cool .

yeahthat Seems like jumping on the Bash Chris Brown bandwagon is a popular thing to do now. Lip syncing live performances on an awards show has been going on for years, its nothing new. Chris Brown isnt the first one to do it and he wont be the last. If ppl are going to call him out for doing that then they need to call out the others too.
