You never heard this song before? You must've been a baby in '92.

I was a sperm cell in '92. Thank God for my Dad's cassettes. That's how I discovered Paula Abdul.

Shoot I was born in 92. | |

I actually remembered when this video (and "Playground" debuted). They were heralded as the new J5/New Edition/boy band ish version of BBD.

Ah... explains it. | |

And look where they are now.

Pretty much. Last I remembered of them they were defeated by Robert Townsend and their careers went with it. Thankfully Luther's stayed on point (since he didn't even say a damn thing in "Meteor Man" ). ABC and Kris Kross also had a brief feud. Ah kids. Man 1992 was THE YEAR even though I was only 8.

When I was 8 we had...Hollaback Girl.

I take it you don't like that song.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
No I love it. | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Oh. I was about to say because I love that song to this day.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Damn Mickey, you're taking me back! My cousin played the Kris Kross song last month to me when we was chilling in his car.

LOL at Raven Symone. Anyone know where the sample on the chorus comes from? And that is Missy Elliot rapping C and C music factory wern't the only ones.
"Iesha" is still cool. Of course, the album pulls through thanks to Dallas Austin being at the top of his game back then. He had his own sound. The remixes of "iesha" were hot too. Particually the smooth "after hours" mix. Anyone remember that one LOL.

The video they did for Jealous Girl was ....
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
never been in favor of kid this young singing "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Not a big fan of the album or even "Jealous girl", but their version pwned New Edition's LOL.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Aww I haven't heard this song in years! Thanks!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Thanks for the video...reminds of that super repetitive New Jack Swing era that pretty much dominated for a few years heavily then suddenly died. What happened to this group ABC anyway? (too lazy to Google it) Trolls be gone!

especially when they can't.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
...why? | |

Hell, I was already grown and whoring big time in 1992 but it was to some Martha Wash or some house music but certainly no shit like this. This was the type of the stuff that was on the radio back then and in straight clubs but not the gay clubs. This was the one of the types of shit that led to the shit of today. . . .
