Nelly Furtado's New Album, T.S.I. (June 19)

Nelly Furtado stormed the charts in 2006 with her multi-platinum album Loose, but she’s been relatively quiet since then. Now the Canadian singer is ready to conquer pop music once again with her long-awaited fourth English album.

T.S.I. (The Spirit Indestructible), Nelly’s first album since 2009’s Spanish-language Mi Plan, will arrive just in time for summer on June 19.

Nelly announced the news on Twitter. “The Spirit Indestructible JUNE 19, 2012,” she wrote.

The first single, “Big Hoops (Bigger the Better),” was produced by Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and will be released to iTunes on April 17. A video is being shot this week in Los Angeles.

In addition to Jerkins, Nelly has been in the studio with producers including Salaam Remi and Pharrell.

“It has a real classic sound to it, a sound that’s really authentic, super soulful,” said Nelly of her new music.

I hate the title of the single, especially with the parentheses.

She's been gone a long time, curious to hear the sound on her new album though.

^^ same here, maybe after a while??

Darkchild still produces albums? When he produces it mostly sounds "safe" but

loved some of his past work.

I wish the entire song was as inspired as the ending, this reeks of failed buzz single territory. Hopefully she brings more to the table with the album. It'd be dissapointing to see the same artist behind folklore create a completely lackluster album.

Is that an old pic of her or did she loose a whole lot of weight lately?

Why won't she get back with Track and Field?

got to be photoshop city because american mainstream cant handle HIPS on a woman, and dont give me Beyonce, because she dropped tons of weight and painted herself white before anyone gave her magazine covers and loreal commercials

I'm digging the new single. I also love how diverse she can be, looks like she's getting in touch with her urban roots again for the album.

I hope you're not equating commericalism and popularity with substance. Isn't that why contemp R&B/soul/pop stinks so much now?

No definitely not, I just assumed she wanted to go for some of that Gaga or Perry money.

Ok I've been a Nellstarr fan long before anybody ever heard of Like a Bird

This is a pretty dope track!!!

However, she sure sounds an awful lot like Rhianna in this song....

Its sure to be a big hit for her and a top song for the Summer

Seems like every second album is the one she wants to make, then she does one for the label. Smart woman!

Well the CD cover sure does remind one of Whoa Nelly

Here's hoping that it truly harkens back to her original sounds of this amazing album....

I expect her sometimes slipping into that grating nasal bleeting tone, but the entire verses are done that way! I can't stand this neutral

I've scrutinized the clip and given the track several listens, but I'm still not feelin' it. I hope the CD is far broader and more enjoyable.

Ok - so Nellstarr has been doing this whole behind the scences videos leading up to this video which is very cool for her to do. However, when I saw the making of this video last week I knew it was gonna blow.

I mean what the heck do the indians have anything to do with this song? They are just out of place and the fast cuts are too much.

Personally, I love this new song from her but the video is just boring and put together by a untalented producer....

I LOVE the song, but do we honestly care how good the video is?

It's not bad. But yeah the cuts (like every other video) drive me crazy.

The worst video to me is this Killers video. There's a new cut every second!
