Yeah i saw this awhile back. I've had the 7 remaster since 2006. I made my own copy of Touch. I haven't gotten around to To the Max yet. Haven't really gotten into that album besides Love Train and Ms. Got The Body. Don't laugh at my funk

In no particular order, here they are:

Like those albums but Candy definitely tops the list for me. Brings back memories. Don't laugh at my funk

I think 'Spirit Of Love' is my #1 favorite, followed closely by 'To The Max'.

I remember seeing that remaster back then but I never bought it.Then it went out of print and was extremely hard to find.I was pissed

I got all of Confunkshun's albums on vinyl and for me Secrets and To The Max are the best IMO.

Interestingly, one of the most popular songs from the To The Max album,"Love's Train",was never released as a single. After several years of releasing slow jam singles that didn't become major hits ("By Your Side","Straight From The Heart",etc),the guys really thought they had a winner with "Love's Train",but their record label disagreed. However, something amazing happened: R&B radio fell in love with "Love's Train" and began playing it anyway. It became a slow jam favorite. It got massive airplay!

That's back when we had PD's and Jocks that had a pair, and would play the deeper cuts from an album.

I have to listen again to remember. I'm guessing it didn't do well chartwise and Love's Train blew the album up. To the Max was the only ConFunkShun album in the 80's i never got to hear all the way through back then. I bought the vinyl last year. Don't laugh at my funk

To The Max had three singles:
"Ain't Nobody Baby" (peaked at #31 on the R&B charts) "Ms.Got The Body" (peaked at #15 on the R&B charts) "You Are The One" (peaked at #47 on the R&B charts)
There really was no 'major' hit from this album, but I think that if "Love's Train" had been released as the second single,it would have done better than those three songs.People LOVE that song! And you're right,it's the song that made people go out and buy the album. It wasn't a single,so if you wanted it,you had to buy the whole album. That may have been a smart move afterall

Damn i never knew that it wasn't released as a single. I know my local radio stations played the hell out of it and i'm not talking during quiet storm. It appears according to Wiki that it was released as a double single single with You Are the One. [Edited 5/10/12 16:08pm] Don't laugh at my funk

I remember "Love's Train" getting alot of airplay where I'm at too, so I've always thought it was an official a-side single from the album. The only Con Funk Shun album I actually listened to was "Touch", which my father bought.

Looks like you're right.I think it should have been a single in its own right (not on the flip side of another single). That's their finest slow jam
