THAT^ is what I've been saying in P&R for the last few times! The government is too involved in people's personal lives and I would prefer for marriage licenses to be done away with. The very fact that people need them as a way to get permission from a man-made government to get married is not true freedom or independence. |

I say bravo to Jay. It's a big deal to have someone of his stature, especially in the largely homophobic hip hop community, to have our backs like that. Maybe now some of the bigots will follow suit. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide." |

So far, The Beastie Boys, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, & Jay-Z are THE only rap artists that are publicly for gay rights.
So what's the hold up with other rappers of yesterday & today?
They certainly haven't been shy with asking other men to suck their dicks. |

Do you mean this like I think you mean it? |

Lil Wayne is the most openly gay-friendly with his actions, so he'll be the next rapper to express his support. Change it one more time.. |

Why must their support be via a public statement?
Not having a problem with gay marriage is not the same as legalizing it by voting.
When did Jay-Z ever vote?
Because hip-hop/rap has a history of being one of the most homophobic musical genres. And I like to see for myself how many rappers are finally ready to grow up.
Would you like to see Ice Cube supporting civil rights for gays or not?!?
He already does. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think. |
