The Marvelettes - The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game A great song. I like it better than "Postman". This is probably my fave Marvelettes song along with "Don't Mess With Bill.
This song has pretty much been forgotten about but it's one of their best. Absolutely love this song .
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ

The Marvelettes inspired more modern day girl groups than the Supremes IMO...
Wanda Young and Gladys Horton also don't get respect for putting it down especially Wanda here.

I agree, but why do you say that The Marvelettes inspired more modern girl groups than The Supremes? Then again I could see that. Image wise, I see The Supremes influence more than anyone else. From En Vogue to Destiny's Child and more. As far as harmonies and vocals go though, The Marvelettes have clearly influenced quite a number of girl groups, but i'm not sure if they are overall more influential, but it's something to think about. En Vogue was more influenced by groups like Labelle and the Pointer Sisters but in terms of vocal and dance talent, they actually have similarities with the Marvelettes though unlike the Marvelettes and the Supremes, they were "put together". There's an obvious Supremes comparison with Destiny's Child (vocal power aside). I think the Supremes' success and its drama influenced some girl groups but I think when I look at the Marvelettes and compare it to the other girl groups that came out after them, I think most take their cue from them and Martha and the Vandellas with the Supremes right behind them and then the Shirelles, Shangri-Las and Ronettes right behind them.

You bring up some good points. The Marvelettes don't get the credit they deserve. They were one of the earliest success stories at Motown and i'm sure even The Supremes themselves were influenced by them. Truly an unsung group

Yeah the Supremes actually tried to modify themselves as the Marvelettes in several recordings. "Let Me Go the Right Way" sounded like Diana Ross' attempt to try to be Gladys Horton...
