Chaka looks amazing. This is so great to see her looking so happy and healthy. We all know she could be dead by now with the things she's done in the past, so I give her a lot of credit for getting her act together with her weight and the drug abuse. Good for her. Hopefully this means we will continue to get new music from her for many more years to come. | |

I completely accept that as what you've heard him say. But I guess neither of us should be surprised that I've heard Prince mention that it was Joni Mitchell that influenced his vocal style, lol. Go figure, lol. That's Prince for you. I can hear Joni's influence in a lot of his songs, though can't think of any off the top of my head that sound "Chaka-ish". Although, I'm sure there must be many. | |

Love Chaka regardless of her weight. "Funk This" album is one of my current favs. Her vocals on Richard Smallwood's song "Precious Is Your Name" is on constant repeat on my itunes. Love you Chaka!!!! | |

We may not see one for a long while. She's flip-flopped a couple of times over the last few years. First she said she was working on another disc with Jam & Lewis. Last year, she announced she decided she was going to release disc of previously released duets she done over the year along with some new material. Now, she's not saying much of anything where her recording career is concerned. Last I heard, she only mentioned she was in the studio.
Chaka has been notorious for this for the past couple of decades. At one point last year, it seemed as though she and 50 Cent were forming an alliance and he said we were going to be seeing a lot more of her. I don't know if he's the reasoning behind all of her publicity lately or not. But, if he is, I hope he helps her get an album of all new original tunes out on the market soon.
