How many of you remember Lina Santiago?

Giving that this was during the tail end of latin freestyle's run on mainstream FM radio in the mid-1990's, Lina's career only lasted 1 album. She did have 2 hits nonetheless.

The 12" version of THIS^ track is better, but I can not find it on YouTube at the moment. But it can be found on one of those Dance Party USA mix album series.

THIS^ was Lina's debut single. I can not believe her music career was not push a lot harder. She had such beautiful vocals.

Liked her alot and I was surprised to that she didn't get more push or even a second album .

Identity

Never heard of her.

She's very attractive, but, vocally, she sounds like a Lisa Lisa knock-off.

Agree, i think she was pretty much ripped off like alot of other dance artists of her day, in looking over the history of how she got the deal and how the record was made, her first single was made on a $1000 budget and then a $25 fee for a demo is what the guy producing her put in, then it caught on and they ordered 3000 vinyl copies which cost about 1.10 a pop to make the single sold about 25,000 of the vinyl itself, the single ended up at No.35 on the Hot 100. I liked her though, as i liked alot of the dance females from back in the day, but thanks to the likes of Cole and Clivilles and that whole "fake singer" shit they pulled it really ruined it for everyone.
