I thought it was Prince?

Sort of sad that he can diss black icons and still have the support of the black community.

Considering some of the big black artists right now diss black people, this doesn't surprise me.

Unfortunately this generation is much more divided then the ones that came before us.

Because somewhere and some time, Prince was performing and he said "Who ever said that they're bringing sexy back, sexy never left!" or something like that lol

Yet here's Prince still performing shows, still known to release an album or two.

Then there's Justin who has to be assured of a gauranteed hit before he even thinks of putting out an album...

Yes ! I like him better than Bieber & he oozes charisma. His Emmy award winning per4mance on SNL was classic & extraordinary. Even though like Jermaine Dupre said he looks like the everyday white boy in the mall... giggle

Motherlover should be his legacy. He has nothing left to prove after that masterpiece. All that matters now is a sequel to The Love Guru.

His time has not gone. Justin is not just a singer but an actor & very comedic. He has had some stand out movie roles. In particular the movie he did with his ex Cameron Diaz..

confuse I'm not understanding the comeback talk? Justin hasn't really left music completely. He's been doing cameos and producing music with the group FreeSol for the past year...they even did a performance in NYC back in November.

His movies and SNL performances are what have been getting him the most press lately...that and his engagement to Jessica Biel. Personally, I don't know what's wrong with him doing acting...I thought 'In Time' was a pretty good movie for him and I loved 'Friends With Benefits'. He started doing acting when he was on the MMC, a show that catered to music and comedy skits so why should he just stay in one area when he's got experience in both?

Seriously, the dude is doing the entrepernuer role like a champ IMHO. People can hate on him and call him a douche all they want but he's smart as hell; a hardworker; and a damn good businessman and I respect that. Music just doesn't make the money that it used to unless an artist wants to write and produce all their songs; do a tour on a yearly basis that sells out every venue with extra dates added; and signs big selling artists to their own personal label. I don't know too many artists with all those things under their belt. Most artists nowadays have turned themselves into brands...the smart ones anyway.

What's music gonna do for him at this point in his career? He's launching a home decor website soon; he's got a successful fashion line ('William Rast'); a string of restaurant/bars ('Southern Hospitality'); his own fragrance ('Play' by Givenchy); a damn good tequila ('901'); is revamping MySpace; and he has his own golf course that is eco-friendly ('Mirimichi'). Seriously, if Britney and Christina can do reality talent shows and people think that's cool than what's wrong with Justin doing movies? shrug

There's really nothing exceptional or innovative going on in music at the moment anyway so I really don't blame him for focusing his time on other ventures...what sound is he gonna make that hasn't been done to death at the moment? When music becomes interesting again maybe he'll 'make a comeback'. I'm a fan of the guy so I personally have no problem waiting for his next record and from the 3 pages of comments on this thread I'm not the only one. Admit it, you like him just a little bit. cool

Timberlake grew up in the music industry. He knows how hard it is to actually get paid for the work you do. Why would he go back to that when he can get paid up front to appear in movies and then use the money for internet ventures that make him even more money?

Since U brought that up. I see where u coming from. Especially after he went on the Grammy's afterwards when Janet was disinvited from it.Plus he once dated her. But he later apologized & admitted that black women have it harder in the music industry. So I forgave him.

The question we should be asking is do we REALLY miss him?

Is music in general hankering for new product from Justin Timberlake?

Sure he's cute to look at and can move for a white boy but you know what, I don't know, whatever.

He had fun stuff but we really need someone who's going to blow us away musically. He'll probably sell. He always seems to. But at this point in time who needs him? We have Usher. Chris Brown. Drake. New cats The Weeknd and Frank Ocean. Justin Beiber almost sounding just like him.

There would really have to be some maturation for us to really care. I'm talking "Prince" to "Dirty Mind" type leaps and bounds. Otherwise he's just a better produced version of what's out there.

I believe both were invited to the grammy's but they had to apologize for it at the grammy's. But I was always netural with that situation they both weren't innocent.

Yes, but can you forgive him for dissing Prince? giggle

Just saw in an old People Magazine at the dentist's office, FutureSex/LoveSounds was listed as a top 10 album of the 2000s and the blurb said it "brought Prince's sound to the future." Hmmm... ?

I think he's a much better actor, and yeah, there's more money in it now than in music. He had good screen prescence in "Friends with Benefits."
