I like a few of them--like those two, plus Mean ol Lion and Everybody Rejoyce. Home, too, if she was not crying the whole time.
But You Can't Win takes them all My Legacy

Charlie Smalls, who wrote The Wiz appeared on an episode of The Monkees earlier in his career. He's around 5:17 of this clip. You can also see him on the screen capture. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I saw it at the movies when it first came out, but don't remember much about it other than I didn't really like the music. Another movie I got invited to see. Eric Benet and Da Brat is in it. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I love you guys, you all play well together. As you already know, Mabel King- Mama in What's Happening- is also in this movie. Just to throw a curve ball , I like Nipsey's song What would I Do simply for the way the background singer go What. What would I do. if I could feel. [Edited 5/6/12 17:25pm] Jeux Sans Frontiers

Whatever those things were that had the stretchy arms walking down the subway scared me as a kid, especially their whistling . Side note, the best Pryor movie nobody has seen is Blue Collar. Jeux Sans Frontiers

I love The Wiz.....I have several favorites but the number one scene for me is the fashion walk, with a close second being the factory scene with Evilene. The dancing is incredible. "A Man Can't Ride Your Back Unless It's Bent" MLK 4/3/68

Speaking of You Know Who and The Wiz, I remember hearing I just Can't Stop Loving You for the first time and thinking how much it reminded me of Home My Legacy

The music in this movie is sooooo good. A lot of the stars of this movie are no longer here, & that's sad. I also like the part where they are green, gold, and red. Those people were having a fashion show all up in the movie, doing it.
