No Doubt's New Album, Push and Shove

May 5, 2012

Link

No Doubt have announced that they will release a new studio album this September.

The band, fronted by Gwen Stefani, revealed that their new album will be released on September 25th in a video posted on their official website – to see the clip, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click.

They released a statement talking about the as-yet-untitled record, which will be the follow-up to their 2001 effort Rock Steady. "We are incredibly excited to share the new music with you. Ear candy coming your way!" they wrote, before later adding: "Thank you all so much for your support over the last 25 years. We're really proud of our new album and we hope you love it as much as we do. We'll be posting a lot of updates between now and September as we shoot the video and start rehearsing to perform the new songs live for all of you."

The band had originally intended to release the album before Christmas last year, but revealed they had pushed back its release date so they could "make sure it's the best album we can possibly make". Previously, meanwhile, Stefani described the band's songwriting approach on the album as "desperate".

Tracks which have been slated to appear on the record previously included 'Undercover', 'Settle Down', 'Easy', 'Heaven' and 'Dreaming The Same Dream', although the band are yet to reveal any of the album's tracklisting.

I'm surprised this hasn't gotten a stronger response on the org.

Anaheim Democracy has been in the works for 10 fucking years! Been a fan of ND since "Just A Girl" hit the buzzworthy rotation on MTV. Caught the video at like 2:30am some random Saturday. This was before they got HUGE. Copped the CD the very next day and wondered for the next few months if I was just plain fucking lucky or what. Discovered Garbage that year, too, and Sublime's last record was on the horizon. Good time for music...

I read on perezhilton (Guilty pleasure!) that they were working with producer Major Lazer which confused me as Major Lazer is two producers, not one.

Cant wait for the new album though!

yeah, that's true, but she was always overshadowed by Pink, Christina, Britney, Rihanna, Beyonce, GaGa or even Kylie...

Gwen may have never stole the spotlight she certainly was influential.

Ke$ha and Gaga were both called second rait Gwens when they first hit the scene and Fergie based her entire solo career on hollaback girl.

How did I miss this thread? OMG, huge ND fan! Saw them in their comeback concert in 09 in Anaheim (or was it Irvine doesnt matter lol), Cali. They've been talking about this album for a while, so I hope they dont change the september release. Love Gwen in ND & as a solo act, I know many ND fans didnt like she went all hiphop/pop on her albums but I think she was cool and unique and I loved that she brought in the japanese fashion. Cant wait cool

Love No Doubt too. Even Prince worked with Gwen in Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic. Guess he saw something in her. I saw the VH1 Storytellers by No Doubt and Gwen said that after working with Prince and hearing all his albums, she became obsessed with the idea of rewriting Raspberry Beret, which eventually became Ex-Girlfriend. Their ska thing with songs like Spiderwebs and Just a girl is very exciting, and Simple kind of life and Don't speak are WONDERFUL pop songs! What do you guys think of Gwen's solo career?

Like I said before, I think she was really good as a solo artist. The hiphop/pop thing was disappointing to many ND fans, but it influenced many other artists. I see it as honoring her background of Anaheim, Cali. She took Japanese street culture and combined it with urban American and she felt real while doing it. Ive loved this chick since I was 5 years old so I guess I'm a bit biased but she was way better than pink, Britney and other contemporary artists. I love ska music and their debut "no doubt" is an amazing album. The feeling, the energy and songs like "trapped in a box" are just amazing smile
