Triple Play Thursday - Aretha Franklin

...Since You've Been Gone

...Jump To It

...Who's Zoomin' Who?

Just like Muhammad Ali who learned to adjust his technique as he aged, the undisputed Queen of Soul paralleled that with her voice.
The mark of a true professional.

I love to sing alone with my favorites. They're my vocal teachers - and when I'm able to blend so well with them that I can barely hear myself apart from them, I consider that well done.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Didn't Lutha write and produce "Jump To It"?

Love that long intro by the way...

I wonder where Clive & Aretha will go next.....

Yes Luther produced it and Marcus Miller arranged it.

I read that Luther and Marcus Miller came up with the tune during a break in the taping of a SNL show.
