Kurt Cobain's teenage daughter wrested control of the late rocker's image, likeness and publicity, after a making a multi-million-dollar loan to her cash-strapped mom, Courtney Love, according to a published report.

Love relinquished her spot as acting manager of End of Music LLC —the business entity that generates cash from Cobain’s publicity rights — after she got a $2.75 million handout from daughter Frances Bean Cobain’s trust fund in 2010, according to court documents cited by The Fix.

Until the loan is repaid, Love won't profit at all from Cobain, and 19-year-old Frances Bean will run the show.

It's the latest odd twist in the sad family chronicle, marked by Cobain suicide in 1994.

The erratic Love, plagued by substance abuse, lost legal custody of Frances Bean in 2009. The Hole front woman was also ousted from her role as an adviser to Frances Bean's trust fund.

Reps for Love didn't immediately return messages seeking comment.

It looks to me like Mom screwed herself. Francis was able to get control of her father's estate before Mom was in need of selling it to someone else. Smart move!

So if I'm reading that correctly, Frances bought out Courtney's interest for $2.75 Million.

I don't know what kind of money Cobain still generates today but immediately, that sounds like a good deal for Frances.

I seem to remember back in the 90's that Courtney and Drew Barrymore were best friends, Courtney even made Drew Francis' godmother. However, now you never see them together or even mention one another. Wonder if they're still friends? It surely doesn't seem like it......

sounds wonky to me. ibet there's more to it. she is essentially doing what labels/publishing doing- front a cash advance and you dont get the collateral until youre loanis repayd. there is nothing here that suggests its apermenant situation.
