Me too. I know which 12 Inch version you are referring to. I had never heard it until years later when I bought a compilation CD that had it on it. But I do remember the radio used to play a longer version that sounded like the 45.

Sometimes, the single edit is superior.A great example is "In The Bush" by Musique. The album version is 8 minutes long, but it's very repetitive. The single version is short, sweet and to the point lol the music sounds faster, too.

I like the album version better. Longer intro and breakdown to mix with. wink

They came back in 1983 with an excellent single called "Working Girl".Unfortunately, radio rejected the song because of its controversial subject matter (prostitution) but I like it alot...

They played the hell out of "Working Girl" on the radio and in the skating rinks down here in Jackson. It's one of my favorite whoring songs. lol

The late 1970s/early 1980s were whore heaven from music to TV, whores were everywhere! Donna Summer "Bad Girls", "She Works Hard For The Money"....LaBelle with "Lady Marmalade"....Rick James with "Sexy Lady", "PIMP The Simp"....he also referenced the working girls in "Money Talks" and "New York Town"....Ashford and Simpson with "Street Corner"....Vanity 6 were nasty girls and Apollonia 6 were sex shooters, Andre Cymone's The Girls wanted you to drop down to your knees and give them some S-E-S-E-X, Grandmaster Flash in "New York, New York"...."man look at these bad girls they got workin' the corner"....Divine Sounds with "What People Do For Money".....It was a great time for whores and that's just the musical side.

Every TV show had a hooker episode....Fame, The Facts Of Life, The Jeffersons, Charlie's Angels, Hunter, Miami Vice, Starsky and Hutch....and then at the movies there was "Streetwalkin" (my alltime favorite movie). Whores were everywhere and I loved the hell out of them!

My mother used to joke and say...."Every time I turn around, you're either watching or listening to something about a whore. It's a damn shame you weren't born a woman because I know what your profession would be". And I used to think to myself...."Hey, who needs to be a woman....." lol
