walks through a cloud for a brief return
Bad 25 is still in progress. The Estate and Sony are working on it and the release is said to be slated for September (although just like Thriller 25, it could be postponed)
The partnership with Pepsi is part of the promotion with the Bad 25 logo being displayed on the cans
The details on the actual tracklisting.....we probably won't get those for awhile as they're still working on it
Spike Lee is doing a documentary to coincide with the release and so far, it includes Steve Stevens, Siedah Garrett, Glen Ballard, and most likely Quincy and others
Bad Tour....I wouldn't be surprised if it was included on the release or seperately. "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Yeah, but there HAS to be some unreleased stuff. Buffalo Bill was definitely recorded. I would think the Estate has this. There is at least a demo to Groove of Midnight. I would think the same for Tomboy and What You Do To Me. And then, Hot Fever and Pyramid Girl. Maybe there isn't much that was recorded but the Estate must have some stuff they can put out on this album besides just remixes.

Buffalo Bill was recorded in 1983 and I'm sure that exists in full. Groove of Midnight could have a full version that exists, but it's likely that he only did background vocals on the record for Siedah. Tomboy and What You Do to Me might not have been presented for inclusion on BAD, but demo versions might exist. Hot Fever is just the working title for The Way You Make Me Feel, just like Pee was the working title for Bad. Pyramid Girl was recorded in 1983 also, even though Michael called it Liberian Girl during his 1983 interview.
Long story short, Michael has records laying around, but if they're not complete, either don't expect a release or expect some top shelf Producer

You'd think that these anniversary editions would be released either on the Anniversary date of their release, or on the death anniversary (still wierd to say that).
Sadly any buzz generated by the limited edition Pepsi cans that were slated for a memorial weekend release might be lost by the time the eventual release takes place, unless they hold back the Pepsi launch. "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"

I wonder why Buffalo Bill has never been released yet. I guess the same can be said about Men In Black. Why weren't they on TUC? Was that Michael's decision?
Unfortunately, the more years that go by, the more I think there is less material left than I thought there would be. I wish the Estate would be more open about this subject and at least give us some titles of what they do have.

Buffalo Bill was recorded 3 times I believe (for Victory, Bad & Invincible). Michael and Frank both spoke highly of the record. The hook for the song is "Who shot Buffalo Bill? They said he shot a lot, did he ever get killed?". Man in Black might not have been completed. A few people who heard the record back when it was created mentioned they never heard the vocals but just the booming music from it.
I think one of the reasons why we're not getting any song titles is because they don't want to give the impression that the song is going to be released [Edited 5/4/12 10:08am]

When the T25 thing was postponed in 2007, I almost thought "hmm must be a situation with Michael AND Sony..." but I see Sony is having its own problems with reissues. They were like that with George's Faith re-release but difference with that was George's own personal problems got in the way. I don't know if they had wanted George to promote the re-release or what? [Edited 5/4/12 10:32am]

Nope, Hot Fever was the original version of The Way You Make Feel in '85. It did become the working title/subtitle as time went on though. The Hot Fever demo from 1985 is circulating and was close to leaking last year. It's a bit over 3 and a half minutes
Another Part Of Me (Original Version) Saturday Woman What You Do To Me Tomboy (some fans have this)

The dates on these songs always confuse me.
I could've sworn Michael McKellar was 1992-93 era and Don't Be Messing Around was 1982. Also, didn't Rob mention that Streetwalker was recorded AFTER Bad, in 1988? That's when he [Rob] said he didn't understand how Streetwalker and APOM were competng for a spot on BAD when SW wasn't even recorded yet.

I think Rob later realized in that thread that he was incorrect and Streetwalker was indeed recorded before BAD was released.

I'm all for this promo thing..anything that honors Michael is cool in my book. (He deserves it.) That being said, why can't the Estate give us something like this instead of some Pepsi marketing BS?
Bad deserves this. Hell, all of MJ's albums deserve this treatment. Come on MJ Estate/Sony!!! MJ Fan 1992-Forever

as far as the whole "unfinished songs" thing goes.. i think you people are forgeting what an "unfinished song" is to michael jackson... Best of Joy is an "unfinished song" 80% of what we havent heard are "unfinished songs" but i garuntee they are COMPLETE for the most part.. and yes.. they have enough Bad Album outtakes to make a whole nother album! but i doubt they will.. they will probably only put 2 or 3 outtakes in just like they did with thriller 25..
as far as a dvd goes.. i think Wembley 88, Los Angeles 89, Tokyo 87.. why not release i dvd for each leg? its more money in sonys pocket which is all they want anyways... i swear they have nothing but dumb ass people handling michael jacksons sony record deal... Michael has enough unrealesed songs to make another 25 albums.. they have 80 hours of rehearsal footage.. they have These spectacular shows they could release on dvd.. and other things as well.. but yet we (the fans) in all reality haveny gotten much..
uggg.... | |

Seeing the dates on that can is so depressing....

Well Best of Joy was recorded in 1990 for Dangerous but was cut from the list. It was on the list of song titles MJ wrote on a piece of paper around that time, so I would assume the song was near completion.
Maybe they should do a DVD with selected clips from each show to create one performance

I love this. I wish Mike did a jazzy album, cause he sounds so beautiful and sexy in here. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Aaah, Mike gettin' his Frank Sinatra on.
And girl I feel ya. I would've liked to see Michael sing some Irving Berlin or Cole Porter...would've been so smooth with his voice The salvation of man is through love and in love. - Dr. V. Frankl

According to Zeola "Zee" Gaye, Marvin's baby sister, on the night Michael did "Billie Jean" for Motown 25, Marvin tried to get Berry Gordy to get him to do HIS big post-Motown hit "Sexual Healing" - he was rebuffed. But Marvin settled for a compromise with Berry to begin his performance with a recital of black music history, which became quite a riveting TV moment itself and which carried on into a great performance of "What's Going On". That May 16th performance (though it aired on March 25th) and his May 8th appearance on Soul Train were his very last TV performances prior to his death in 1984. Marvin had used Michael (and Prince, Rick James, etc.) as inspiration behind the making of Midnight Love and I knew if he had stayed alive since he and Michael were both on CBS, he would've been competitive to get his spot regardless. Michael later recalled that Marvin was one of the artists at Motown 25 to congratulate him on his performance.

Did my post give that impression? I know there's going to be a release. Branca stated that it was coming a number of times since the news of the 2010 Sony deal and with the Bad 25 logo, the Spike Lee documentary, Pepsi deal, and other merchandise. I expect a reissue of the album by the end of the year, especially since promo starts this month "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them.
