I have hard times believe anything with Roger Friedman name, but I hope it's true. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I think its impossible for the Estate to have every unreleased song honestly... I just wish the songs they do have... they dont tamper with

The vocals sound 1982. And there's even some "Lovely One" hiccups around the 1:42 mark of the song. And at the end, you've got some State of Shock as somebody else has pointed out.

I can tell you this, the version leaked isn't from BAD era and I kinda doubt we'll get it. I'm happy with the Thriller version

Not bad. I'd give it 6/10.

You make a very good point about what the Estate has and I wouldnt be surprised if that were the case. Michael has been known to record several versions of a song...I think what Bruce heard was a more finished version but the version of DBMA that the Estate/Sony is releasing is the song in its very early conception stage, recorded sometime during the Thriller sessions. Oh well, its a nice rough draft and I'm glad to hear an MJ song I havent heard before. The Estate could stop half assing things and put a little more effort in making sure that they accurately state which songs are completed or just demos... Its embrassing that fans are more knowledgable about minor things like this that can easily be corrected. It seems they just release whatever they can get their hands on or tamper with what they already have...

That's quite interesting points you two have said about what may be going on here.

At this point, I'm just hoping the Estate has the 1983 version of Buffalo Bill and plans to release it on BAD25. I mean, even MJ himself thought it was going to be a hit. Frank Dileo thought it was a hit. For whatever reason, it was never released. But MJ sure had some confidence about the song.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yep.
Yes that and if they stated the accurate era or timeframe of when it was recorded. It would certainly cut down on the confusion and "WTF IS THIS?!?!" responses They should hire a veteran fan as a consultant to help them with these things. Look at the Cascio fiasco. Doesn't that prove enough for you guys that the Estate really doesn't have much material? And don't forget, it was Sony who paid the Estate. Not the other way around. While Sony has say, they need to rely on the Estate for the material that is provided.

True, I really hope they just release it as it was intended. When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace -Jimi Hendrix

i like it, yes its a demo.. and you can tell its a demo, but its still wonderful to me, im glad it was left untouched

I would say it did. Honestly though how many tracks did Michael actually finish though? That's a bigger question than "what happened to them?"

Some songs that the estate should have ;

^ That list doesn't mean a whole lot to me. I mean, these are song titles but that doesn't mean they were completed. Doesn't even mean anything was recorded. If anything, they are just ideas that might have turned into rough demos.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Michael wrote over 100 songs each album.. there is WAY MORE than the songs listed here... but still pretty damn good lists, good job stans
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Basically.
Michael said he writes up to 100 songs for an album. Writing up to 100 doesn't equal recording 100. Out of 100 songs, (in my opinion) I think Michael would record maybe 20 of them...if that.

That Girl is another track I always wanted to hear. I guess that was recorded for Destiny and then again for Triumph. The brothers were at their peak at this time.
You Told Me Your Lovin' Now that sounds like a hot track. And from 79-81 ish as well, it must be [Edited 6/1/12 12:19pm]

Well of course but there definitly more demo or completed songs than want WE and the ESTATE know about. The Estate is just releasing what they have or can find.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Which makes me wonder, where are some of these unreleased tapes? You would think that most of them would be in the same place where MJ himself vaulted them. Seems hard to believe that MJ would scatter them. Some might be with Sweiden, Jones, Temperton, Riley, Jerkins, the Jackson brothers, etc. as well?
How is the Estate going through with the process of tracking down these tapes? Could some of these tapes have been destroyed? Makes you wonder.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
to my knowledge, all the songs in those 2 lists have been recorded, whether they are demos or completed i would still like to hear them..michael was known to over record for his albums, plus the man had a home recording studio, so im sure there are many many more than that..
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
i wouldnt say they were "scattered", but i think different people have different things, for example queen has 3 mj tracks. but all in all the estate/ sony can get their hands on them.

alright, so i have just listened to dont be messin around for my 4th time. and i LOVE it. at first i was a little disapointed, but after another 2 listens i really love it, and cant get it out of my head!
