Yeah, after a few listens, no doubt these are 1982 vocals. If this was an outtake for Thriller, the melody is stronger than anything that we know of that wasn't released for Thriller.
Too bad it wasn't finished... It has potential.

Anybody else think the snippet that's been on Youtube for years sounds slightly different?

Yes there are songs that are finished, like People of The World but most songs imo that are finished are from the 90s and from the 00s.
At least 2 songs from the Will.I.Am session are completed also from the HISTORY session there should be at least 5 songs that are ready to be put on CD. When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace -Jimi Hendrix

Nice song but nothing spectacular |

The Estate/Sony blew it with the Michael album. Forget the Cascio tracks and put the Will.I.Am tracks in its place. Add some Jerkins stuff, DYKWYCA, Blue Gangsta... The Michael album could've sold so much more.

Yes I thought it sounded a bit different 2. It had potential had it been worked on! But I'm kinda confused over the comments Bruce made ; ''Bruce Swedien, explains that an unreleased ballad entitled "Don't Be Messin' Around" by Michael Jackson could rank as his greatest ever work. Millions of fans need to wait for the approval of the Estate before hearing this solo performance which Swedien describe...s as "mesmerizing". There is another surprise for the fans concerning the unreleased track. Michael has a solo piano performance on it! According to Swedien, "It's just beautiful... Oh my God, there's nothing like it." ''
Is there another version perhaps? A piano version? When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace -Jimi Hendrix

I know, I hated that album... Even friends that arent big fans of his, knew that it wasnt Michael singing on that damn album. The casicio tracks arent even real, and I'm hoping they dont put Black Widow or that other stupid song on this new album. Will.I.Am needs to talk to Katherine and the estate, because I know it'll be great stuff. When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace -Jimi Hendrix

I've always thought that Access Hollywood interview in the Ireland studio provided early samples of what would become I'm Dreamin' and The Future. The one song where MJ gets up and dances, I bet that's Dreamin'.

Either that or Bruce was overhyping this song to generate interest? MJ L.O.V.E: https://www.facebook.com/...689&type=2 / YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/us...nderSilent

Bruce seems like an honest guy. Not the type to overhype a song just to generate interest. I know he used to post in GS, but not sure if he does anymore.
I bet there's another version that Bruce was talking about. Maybe a more earlier version with just a piano. [Edited 6/1/12 8:20am]

The first song that is played on Access Hollywod is called Fly Girl, (I have the album, and always remined me of Michaels music) but Michael wasnt satisfied with it, so he released it without Michael. And yeah they were early samples... Did you hear People of the world? When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace -Jimi Hendrix
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yeah, I know about Fly Girl. But there were 2 other samples used in that show that have never been on any Will.I.Am track. I especially liked the one when Mike got up and danced and said how he liked it. Will said, "That's a club banger right there". Thats what I think evolved into I'm Dreamin'. The other track, The Future, is supposed to be a latin-tinged club song.
People of the World? I don't think I know anything about that one. Could you explain?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I think I have a longer version of one those songs on my other computer. Yeah me too, I think that would have been a great song. Yes I've heard snippets from the latin based club song but I didnt know if it was real or not, because the guy who sent it to me was being investigated by the police for being one of the guys who hacked into SONY. What I heard from that song, sounded good tho.
Yeah sure, it's a song that he made in 1999 I believe? I cant find much information on it, except that I got it from this guy. I have the full instrumental song and also snippets of Michael singing it. It's like a new type of "heal the world" song. Yes, I just went back and re-read the article that was posted about it, and I think you're right about there being another version of DBMA. And if that's the case then I hope that version gets released or leaked!
The leaked version I heard today is quite nice but it doesnt sound anything like what is described here. [Edited 6/1/12 9:28am] [Edited 6/1/12 9:28am] [Edited 6/1/12 9:34am] MJ L.O.V.E: https://www.facebook.com/...689&type=2 / YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/us...nderSilent

I know that was I thought of too, perhaps there's a piano version of it? because it's so strange that so many people have hyped this song and now when it's released it's nothing like they described it to be... I also liked it but was expecting something completly different! When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace -Jimi Hendrix

I agree... Michael had alot of other cross over rock songs but I think that is no doubt number one!

I exactly like the song... and this is definitly from Thriller sessions. The song seems abstract and very different from songs that were on Thriller and even Bad. ALthough I like it, it doesnt seem that strong.. Hopefully there is another version to this... Im just really excited I cant lie
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I agree. I'm beginning to think this leaked version was purposely altered/remixed from the actual original version that exists. Perhaps this was done by Sony on purpose? Maybe the IJCSLY single will have the actual untouched version of DBMA and Sony purposely leaked this altered version to keep the original version from being stolen and leaked??? Idk, just a theory... [Edited 6/1/12 9:55am] MJ L.O.V.E: https://www.facebook.com/...689&type=2 / YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/us...nderSilent

Or perhaps they'll release the other version on the second disc of BAD25? The person who leaked this got it from the CD I think, the person is on the mjjcommunity.com ... I really hope they do release the other version if it exists... I'm really hoping that there are more "finished" stuff on BAD25 but even tho I love Bad (I dont always like the 80s demos) I actually want to hear more from the 90s and the 00s..
I kinda thought the song would be more like the original P.Y.T , http://www.youtube.com/wa...wZbJC_fXyU [Edited 6/1/12 10:21am] When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace -Jimi Hendrix

Very interesting, thanks for posting. Perhaps the version that we're hearing is a very rough draft of the song? Something about the song's beat sounds very familiar to me, like I've heard it before. It reminds me of one of those pre-recorded beats you can play on a keyboard. For instance, maybe Michael pushed the "Bossa Nova" button on a keyboard and started playing and singing the song along with the beat, and he recorded it. And maybe that's the version that was leaked today--the very 1st, rough draft version of it--the song being in the very early stages of its creation. Not trying to bash the song, its fine, I'm just trying to figure out why it doesnt sound like anything Bruce said. Maybe there is a more developed, polished version out there that he was referring to? MJ L.O.V.E: https://www.facebook.com/...689&type=2 / YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/us...nderSilent

I know Bruce Swedien played this song up (and there could be another version), but what more can you expect? It's an outtake. IF it was THAT good, it would've made an album. It never did. These are demos. Nothing more. And I am glad this one was left untouched.
I keep stressing the Will.I.Am tracks because unlike these demos that were never good enough to make an album, the Will.I.Am tracks were intended for an album, assuming some are completed.

Anyone hear the "State of Shock" riff at the very end? These songs were recorded around the same.
I wanna hear the songs MJ mentioned in his Chicago Deposition that he felt were stronger than all the songs on Thriller

The song mentioned in that article from mjjdatabank.com I wonder if they'll ever release Michaels version of it. It seems as if he worked on music in Japan too?

^I already know its a demo, but the point of the matter is going by Bruce's description, what we are hearing and what he described do not match up. He has described the song as "mindblowing", "mesmerizing", a "powerful ballad", "there's nothing like it", etc. This version is not a ballad, and its a decent demo but I wouldnt call it mindblowing. I am not the only one who is questioning why the song we're hearing isnt matching up with Bruce's description. The released version better be a ballad then. The version allegedly on the single release of "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" was allegedly recorded around the time of DANGEROUS. So I don't get this shit...

To be honest, I think we need to consider what the Estate has. We talk about another possible version to this song, and the songs mentioned in the depositions, does the Estate really have all these songs in their possession?
Wasn't their a rumor going around that LaToya took MJ's hard drive with a bunch of music after he passed? What ever became of that?
Janet talked up Iowa. MJ and Dileo talked up Buffalo Bill. Bruce talked up DBMA. A music writer talked up Men In Black. Yet 3 years later, we still don't know anything. I think we need to realize the Estate might not have everything.
