I thought about all the concerts I've been to over the past 20 years, but I find it hard to remember them in detail. Prince, MJ, Madonna, Springsteen, Janet, The Stones....all the icons and so many more!

(I don't smoke weed or drink, I go in sober and come out sober, well maybe a contact high, but it depends who is performing)

I can remember buying the tickets, what I wore, the planning, but once the show starts and it's over, the memory of it seems to be a blur.

I think the distraction of the crowd takes away from taking in the moment and you don't realize it until it's over. It kinda sucks because you spend a fortune on preparing and you're left with just a ticket stub and maybe a T-shirt.

I wish I could remember more concerts from the early days, when I saw history in the making.

You probably remember more than you think you do. Case in point:

I saw KISS in 1976. Great show, but I couldn't repeat the setlist or anything.

But then I saw them in 1996 - 20 years later. As they played the show, I realized that it was the EXACT SAME SHOW as from 1976. The only difference was a "Don't drive drunk" statement by Paul Stanley.

So the memories are there, if you can find a way to unlock them.

i have the same thing! I haven't gone to many concerts, but Lovesexy, the Bad tour, Nude tour...can't remember a damn thing.

Saw the Victory Tour at age 11 and thought I remembered it as the greatest show ever. I watched clips of it on Youtube as an adult and wondered how the Jacksons brothers could put out such a crappy show. It sucked.

Saw Musicology Tour when Prince came to Chicago a few years back and was in awe. It was my first Prince show. Best concert I've ever been to.

I have been to a lot of concerts over the years and I usually don't remember much at all after a while .

I know! Youtube is best form of time travel...It's hard to take it all in, there is so much to see and hear, the good and the bad!

I got videos from the stevie concert on me phone & pics of the prince concert. The rest no sadly except a far away shot of Dylan.

Like many of us here, I've attended a lot of concerts over the years. Usually, I remember only the special moments from each of them, some of them having had more special moments than others:

I also saw KISS, but in 1977. I remember the design of their stage, I remember tons of explosives & pyrotechnics, and I remember feeling the heat on my face when Gene Simmons blew fire from his mouth. I also remember him drooling "blood" all over the front row of the audience. Great show!

I remember the first time I saw Bootsy's Rubber Band at the Civic Center in Charlotte, NC in late 1976 (I believe), because at the end of the show Bootsy set-off an explosion so powerful, that it shattered all the windows along the top perimeter of the auditorium, sending some concert-goers to the hospital. When the smoke cleared, the band had disappeared from the stage. All that was left was the ringing in your ears. Bootsy LITERALLY tore the roof off that sucker!

I remember many special moments from the Rick James "Fire It Up" tour in 1978/79, when Prince was his opening act. I've written about it extensively here in these forums, and around the Internet.

And I also remember many special moments from the first time I saw Parliament/Funkadelic in concert in 1977; like when Garry Shider (Diaper Man) flew over the audience (specifically, over my head), shooting everybody below him with The Bop Gun (which fired STROBE LIGHT as an eerie effect). He didn't just fly straight out and back, but he would also rise and fall as he pumped his legs (a series of strobe lights were also focused on him), it almost looked like he was swimming through the air - great effect! And of course, The Landing of The Holy Mothership (who could forget their first time seeing THAT?!? Especially when you had only previously heard stories about it, and had written it off as Urban Concert Legend, lol).

Those were all way back in the day, of course my memories of more recent concerts are much fuller and more complete. I LOVE going to concerts and Broadway shows. They are among my favorite ways to have good times and to create special memories.

Yep!! My very first concert was RFTW

Sure I do. Bee Gees '91 tour was my fave. Followed by Prince in '95, Radiohead in '03 and Coldplay in '02.

All were worthy.

I saw the Lovesexy show on November 11,1988 and it was the greatest concert I've ever seen.I remember it vividly.

I do remember them, but I think most of them became blurry, or the hype was hard to remember during it, though before and after was the most memorable. I remember an article about this very topic shortly after mj's death, and though I think they spoke about mj, they talked about other bands too.

The most memorable show for me was Janet's Velvet Rope tour, my first pop music concert. The following tours were as well, but I was soooo hyper during RWU that I mostly remember being excited more than the show though I remember being on my feet, screaming, people reminding me we said hi though I could NOT remember or recognize their face (I was NOT drinking)...I had met janet before the show and forgot what I was going to tell her and became calm when it happened before erupting again in excitement

For the most part, no. Photo's, audio and/or video are a good trigger though.

Depends how many gigs one has attended.
