Eve is Cookin' Up A Comeback

April 27, 2012

Link

Eve is cooking up a comeback. Ruff Ryders’ First Lady was in the studio putting the finishing touches on a new record with Snoop Dogg and her frequent collaborator Swizz Beatz.

“I’m COMIN SOON! COUNTDOWN! MAMA IN THE KITCHEN @therealswizz @SnoopDogg,” tweeted Eve .

The Philly rapper is getting ready to drop a buzz single from her first album in nearly a decade. “I’m probably gonna throwout a couple records before the radio single,” she told The Women of Hip-Hop.

“I wanted to make sure that my core audience didn’t feel like Eve completely forgot about us and went to another side. I feel like this record is well rounded. It has enough of the hard street stuff, it has some radio stuff, but it also has some stuff that people can listen to when they’re feeling down.”

No. Reading about Madonna's series of flop singles has you confused.

You have a real wit there.

I like Eve. But none of these attempted comebacks has ever even resulted in an album. She and Foxy Brown, whatever the circumstances, seem unable to get it together to ever release anything to launch these planned comebacks.

It's like I come back to the board after a while and it's like all my worst nightmares are coming true. First Brandy, now Eve.

I love how people CANNOT stop talking about Madonna. Whether it's her success or her failures, people just won't let it go...

as for Eve, well I like her a lot and I really hope an album materializes this time around.

Not gonna happen imo, she's too commercial and no one is checking for Eve or any of the Ruff Ryders anymore...and isn't she too old to be rapping?

She's younger than her fellow rappers DMX, Jay-Z , Nas, Common, and Kanye West.

Close to her mid-thirties, after a certain age, being a rapper is kinda embarrasing as it is a young person's game.

Eve stands on her own without the Muff Ryders.

I was remembering Love Is Blind the other day.

She was a guest star on Whitney on one of the last few episodes, so it may be coming sooner than we expect.

is it even possible for a rapper to make a comeback? hmmm Hip-hop fans are so fickle, they move on very quickly. It's even worse for female rappers.Nicki Minaj is the only female rapper who's enjoying any real success right now.

Can one truly label Nicki a rapper? Or is she a speed talker? That faux British accent she uses (unintentionally or not) is a hoot.

Eve is as raw as it gets.... cut throat.. She looks nice in the photo. It would be nice if she does return but no pop shit.

Nikki is just manufactured. She isnt a MC. She didnt battle or freestyle to get notice. I exactly believed she wrote her material until a couple months back someone posted that someone writes her rhymes for her. Technically anybody can be a rapper, which is just reciting a couple of lines.

I just hope if she does come back she doesnt try to do that cross over pop shit. I missed her with her short red hair, that was so her style. The weave is nice on her but it doesnt seem like her style.

Honestly and this goes for all artists, im tired of the word "Comeback", its such a BS nonsense term, and its used constantly to attract and HYPE up your album, which to me is pretty pathetic, that you have to attatch a word to your album everytime, everyone and their mother is making a "Comeback", Usher's next album, comeback, Chris Brown, comeback, Christina Aguilera, comeback, Mariah Carey, comeback etc....now eve, and Lil Kim and Mase and the fucking list goes on and on and on, just put your shit out there and let the music speak instead of your tweets and PR people.

Swizz and Eve made a good combo back in the day, but that ship has sailed it seems with many of the RR survivors. Same thing happens to all rappers who go hollywood, ie luda, ll cool j, they come back with a disappointing return....

I liked Eve. Remember that short-lived sitcom she was in?

And her comeback will be just as epic as Lil Kim's. If I were an artist in this day and age, no way I'd take a break. It's too hard to come back. How many failed comebacks have their been in recent years?

Yeah, good luck Eve.

Eve has got skills and in this day of Nicki Minaj, it's time for someone else to come to the fold and rock it. If she gets a dope producer behind her, I think she'll do just fine. Her first album is a classic.
