But they were given that song after "Lovelight" became a hit hence why I said "one-hit". Before they were indeed "no-hit".

'Danger Zone' recorded by Kenny Loggins from the Top Gun Soundtrack was passed by Bryan Adams.

I don't think this is accurate. Songs from Paul's first solo album 'McCartney' were written for possible inclusion on Abbey Road (Teddy Boy, Junk), but the Ram songs were penned after the breakup. Occupy Alphabet Street!

Agreed. Although it did hurt Kenny Loggins' career in a sense. He kept being called the Movie Theme guy or something.

I read somewhere that the Supremes were intended to get "This Old Heart of Mine" but Berry told HDH to give it to his new signing act - The Isley Brothers.

Haven't seen one of my favorites mentioned here... Ain't Nobody (Rufus feat. Chaka). Quincy Jones was going to use Ain't Nobody on Thriller, but Hawk Wolinski (the writer and member of Rufus) kept it for Rufus/Chaka. Not sure if it was written for Michael initially.

Donna Summer's "Dim All The Nights" from Bad Girls was initially written for Rod Stewart, and Bruce Springsteen's "Cover Me" was initially written for Donna in 1982, but was replaced with "Protection".
That's all I've got... | |

Ah, uhm...
I thought it was made clear that the piece of music Prince sent to Stevie Nicks wasn't "Purple Rain", but something else that would later turn into "Purple Rain" as it used some of the same chords and so on. That news item was just titled horrible wrong and despite a lot of people commenting on it the mods didn't seem to care enough to do anything about it.

That's all I've got... Wow 'Dim All The Lights' for Rod Stewart ? I can see it after all he did go Disco for a short time. I heard He's So Shy on the radio today and I decided to look up the song turns out the song was intended for 70s singer Leo Sayer with 'She' in the title of course but his former producer gave it to the Pointer Sisters but the single was intended for Anita to sing lead not June dont know why their voices do sound similar.

I think Anita said she was sick and that led to June doing it. I heard Fire was originally given to June but she was sick and gave it to Anita... funny because June has always been seen as the "rock and roll chick" of the Pointers.

It's also on Rebbie Jackson's debut album. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

You know its funny your comment about June Pointer being the 'rock and roll' chick because she always seemed to me the wild one she had an edge to her more so than Tina Turner She certainly could've went solo too. Did she ever have a solo album?
