I mean, I'm a huge fan, believe me...it's just seeing pics of those last fear years made me feel like I was seeing someone who was so far gone...so lost. And I didn't even put the blame on him for it.

It's okay...."you are not alone"

I was already sad even before his death and just had to tell myself it's still the michael I love :*( and upset with those who betrayed him and his yes-men, and with him for being too trusting though it was out of love.

Well, people get older, nobody can stay on a creative peak for years.

I could say TTD, although he still made some decent tracks after his success, but he could have been succesfull for a much longer time.

Same goes for George Michael, if he didn't let drama rule his life.

But yeah, it has to be said that of all my favourite music artists none have lost it quite as much as Prince. To my ears anyway.

Lotusflower was a slight return to form but then he followed it with the drek called 2010.

Most of his post WB stuff is fucking abysmal compared to what went before.

What they did to him was crazier than any kind of crazy going through his mind when making messed up decisions. And what they did to him would fuck anyone up emotionally. It's amazing he stuck it out for as long as he did, and many fans like myself drew inspiration from his inner strength though I also realize none of us should compare ourselves to him cause we will never know what it was like being him, or being trapped being him.

I'm still really angry about it all and how it ended, it just doesn't sit well with me at all.

I was going to say I couldn't think of any, but then I started reading what other people have written. lol

JoeTyler said:

Marilyn Manson - Never a big enough fan to know, but what I've heard certainly doesn't stack up to his/their early stuff (I say their because I think the music went downhill when he started firing people).

George Michael - .... I don't think I ever gave anything after Listen Without Prejudice a chance, and maybe that's a good thing. lol

Oasis - Yep! nod I used to try and tell people how great they were... and then all of a sudden they weren't and it kind of pissed me off.

scatwoman said:

Yeah but, come on, they've all been at it forever and their bodies of work SQUASH pretty much everyone. I'm not even a big fan of any of them and I still think they've done pretty well by their own legacies.

tori amos - from boys for pele to the beekeeper??? really??? neutral

Could not possibly agree with you more! This is actually the one that made me reply. I loved, loved, LOVED that woman at the beginning, but she completely lost me after Boys For Pele (and I didn't even love all of that album).

bjork - dull

No way! Experimental for sure. Never makes the same album for sure. Takes two years for her albums to make sense, maybe. But not dull. Just not the same.

u2 - go away already

Really? lol Their last album wasn't perfect, but it was still better than what most people have EVER done at that point in their careers. And that tour, environmental disaster that it was, was SPECTACULAR. They'll come back right on their next album, too. Watch.

r.e.m. - good job they stopped

highfive THEY should have stopped thirty years ago. Oh wait.. lol

Cerebus can't get down like that. hmph!

I love that there's bands/artists out there who have had 20, 30, 40, 50! year long careers. We're in a unique time in that regard, I believe. I don't think there will be as many of them in the future. I dig that they're still out there doin' their thing. We should all be so lucky as to get the chance to play music for a living for our entire lives.

Nope, not a good thing at all. Older is pretty great and Patience is a solid effort.

Who said they could? Faith is virtually flawless and LWP is even better. Kinda hard to follow those 2, but he didn't do a bad job.
