Madonna ~ Keep It Together {12" Remix}

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

that soul II soul beat and those keys - man oh man the woman has a talent for picking even better remixes of her songs for tours. this performance was too incredible. and this mix of the song wasn't on The Immaculate Collection??? TOSS CHerish, and replace with this, that collection would have truly been immaculate, had they also found a spot for Causin A Commotin (both of which were oddly not included on IC but included in the setlist for BA.

Alot of poppy "house" mixes from that era seemed to borrow somewhat from Soul to soul.

Almost like record companies just asked remixes to do it "like soul II soul". Personally I find alot of remixes like this abit boring but that was the time I guess.

Wow! I wanted to make a threat about this remix yesterday. I was listening to it on the subway.

The beats and the piano are so cool. It's a very warm sound.

I know time changes, but compare this to some of the shitty cold remixes from today.

Speaking of this, I always wondered why Shep Pettibone did not continue working as a producer after Madonna's "Erotica" album. I understand that Madonna wanted to move on for "Bedtime Stories", but could he not have been an in-demand producer for many other artists at that point? He had remixed for EVERYONE in the 80's-- then after co-producing for Madonna from '90 to '93, there is virtually nothing else in his discography. What happened?

Don't know, but I had a friend who didn't like Shep's remixes other than Lessons In Love by Level 42 and Hard Day by George Michael. If he saw the name Shep Pettibone, he wouldn't even listen to it. lol

Isn't this her most successful song on the dance chart?

Should have been a video for it - It was a pretty cool they way they ended BA tour with this.

I don't remember what that sounds like, although I have the album. I mostly listened to the remix on the maxi single and it was the version that was played on the local radio stations at the time. There's several mixes on the single.

Aww! see i almost forget how good Madonna can be confused everyones talking so much about that kids pop sounding MDNA album mad

The like a prayer era & ray of light era are my favorites. The videos & songs where just perfect.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen
