Amy Winehouse

I'm still missing Amy. Wondering what kind of new material she would have released? Also, wish she and P could have worked on new material

Loved Amy. She had such a beautiful voice. Black To Black is a masterpiece in my eyes.

The bitch is dead: get over it.

Honor her by abstracting a lesson from how she choose to live her

life and by listening to her music: her legacy lives on.

Jeezus Christ, you fans are so maudlin and emotional.

Let's say Prince dies tomorrow of a drug overdose, I doubt you'd just "get over it"

yeahthat

and, i really wanted her to reach her potential as a great vocalist. however imo the record companies wanted to remake any winehouse, bottle her and put her on their shelves of success.

amy wasn't going to have it.

she was one of the great vocalist of our time. i still miss her.

The context of Prince's death, I can only guess, will be entirely different than

that of a drug addict's mortal overdose. And yes, I would just "get over" Prince's

death because his legacy (i.e. music) is what is important to me, not "Prince" as

a person (who from all accounts, is a douchebag).

you just contradicted yourself. If it's about the music why do you bring up Winehouse's personal baggage? It sounds like you've got some yourself...

How did I contradict myself?

Someone said they misssed Winehouse. I said something to the effect that you

can't miss her because that implies you knew her personally. So, to honor her

instead by taking a lesson from how she lived her life and/or listen to her music.

You can't miss somebody you don't fucking know intimately - that's why I can

"get over" Michael Jackson's death and why I will get over Prince's looming demise

as well!

Only fans "miss" their idols or celebrities; real people paying bills, going to school,

and struggling to live their own life as well as they can don't have the time nor the

personal experience of knowing a celebrity to fucking care that one is dead or alive.

Music is Winehouse's most important legacy and you can't miss it - it's eternal.

okay i'll explain.

when I say "I miss her" most reasonable people would take it as I miss her talent.

It's not personal. Not sure why you would go there?

Here's what I am saying:

Nonsense cannot possibly authentically miss Winehouse because I'm assuming s/he

didn't know her intimately. So instead of being a mindless fan going around saying

"I miss Amy" without the personal experience needed of knowing her, honor her

legacy instead by listening to and appreciating her music, the only thing you can

possibly and intimately know about Amy Winehouse.

Basically, because of the explosion of threads based upon dead celebrities and the faux

grief deluge from posters here at the Org, I'm railing against ding-dong fans who spend

their lives consumed with celebrities and fail to realize that:

1. Celebrities don't give a fuck about you, only your attention and money

2. Life is passing your dumb ass by

That's *nonsense*!

The outcome of her talent, that is, her music, is eternal.

You cannot possibly miss Amy Winehouse while you are still alive.

I loved Amy Winehouse's talent. I could not have loved her the same way I love my mother because I did not know Amy Winehouse personally or as intimately as I do know my mother. However, because I love Amy Winehouse (that is, I loved the music she made) I will continue to honor that love by listening to her music today!

Well said.
