I was at a Rachelle Ferrell gig a few weeks ago. Rachelle called her up out of the audience to get some on Sister I believe. Now it takes some brass ones get on stage and sing with Ms. Ferrell in the first place. She had to ad lib and held her own.
It was also noteworthy that she was respectful of the fact that it wasn't her gig. What she sang remained within the context of the song. Very impressive.

She BETTA had contained herself. Rachelle would sing her lil' pretty ass into a coma.
Seriously, Rachelle is in another staratosphere. I honestly think Goapele is good but I've yet to hear "greatness" from her. She stays in her lane and does well by doing so. [Edited 4/20/12 23:17pm] |
