B2K was the top black male teenage group of that time. No one else rivaled them during that short period. Their fans was heartbroken & hysterical when they suddenly with no warning broke up..

That is why people still care...

YEA ALOT of girls were crying when they broke up lol I remember hearing that shit on the radio. Radio personalities were calling up listeners and they were expressing their views...

They were officially together for three years. lol And being "the top black male teenage group of that time" means absolutely nothing. They were third tier.

Dude, that's real talk. lol I love music. ALL KINDS of music. If this was something to be exciting about I'd be jumping up and down with you. But B2K? Nah man. Basically this just means that Omarion's career had sunk so low that he could make a few thousand dollars more doing this than whatever third tier thing he'd recently been failing at.

Omarion was a child actor and had several other roles as a man. B2K also did movies. They we're a brand. They're concerts we're sell outs and they we're on the cover of every black teen magazine at that time. They we're like the black Justin Bieber's...Stop hating!!...

lol I'm not hating. They weren't important enough to hate. Mostly I'm just turnin' your crank because it's funny that you think B2K were ever that big or important. They didn't come within a few thousand miles of EVER being as popular as Justin Bieber.

Again lol

lol It all started with me and Omari. Here is an article I found online about it...

With their careers having faded into oblivion in recent years, the boys have decided to reunite in the studio to create magic that had legions of girls screaming their names.

However, it appears as though Raz-B is not invited for the trip down memory lane and wasn't included in the tweet written by Tayon Bell, which read: "@1Omarion @boogie_p @lafizzo lets get a record for old time sake."

Entertaining the idea, Omarion replied: "@iamTAYON>@1Omarion @boogie_p @lafizzo lets get a record for old time sake?...you think the fans would want that? a Fizz, O & Boog record?"

Would you like to see the boys back together again?

They've been in the studio just goofing around with music but nothing too serious. So when I asked to get a record from them, Omari (who I've been knowing for years along with the group itself) egged the idea on. Raz was clearly upset because I didn't include his Twitter name

I used to feel sorry for Raz B and I even had tremedous respect for him when he came out about the allegations, but when he started acting crazy and doing all that other weird shit on youtube, I stopped taking him serious.

Raz has been bitter for years. He started acting crazy once he got off those meds. He was diagnosed as bi-polar when he was 14.

What a mess confused

Only B2K song i remember is boyfriend or girlfriend or w/e it's called. Only reason i know if it is cause Kells produced & wrote it... and in those day's he was writing & producing throwaway R&B tracks left & right. B2K Seemed like a wannabe Blackstreet imitating Boys 2 Men. On to the next one fishslap

Damn you took it to another level Cerebus lol

But really, Kells was producing like.... 30 or 40 R&B songs that year... and well all of them where kind of blah. He gave B2K a throwaway track & Puffy did to. They did some song with Puffy to... which i won't bother looking up cause... i don't wanna hear it lol

I'm totally cool with that. Actually figured somebody would probably say so.

Doesn't change the fact that I don't understand why anybody cares about what's going with B2K in 2012. lol

Hell yeah, imo Boys where the kings of R&B Male groups in the 90's. They crossed over, could sing there ass off, and didn't have to act all tough they where pretty clean cut average guys.

I don't see no one checking for B2K no more. lol

That's true, they aren't.

But a few years back, it was a different story entirely - in the black community specifically.

I remember I actually got tired of turning on the tv and seeing B2K dominating all the black music countdowns at the time looool.

So, yeah - for anyone to say that B2K were never really a hit, really shows their own ignorance about black music. Were they huge in terms of universal, crossover pop success? Absolutely not. But in the very specific genre they focused on, they pretty much WERE stars, however briefly it lasted.

And really that brevity isn't unusual simply because most teen music acts usually break up or fizzle out as their fans get older.

NKOTB wasn't all over the place a few years after their initial success, either - nor were any of the other teen idol acts over the decades. They always have a really short shelf life.

As far as the allegations go - honestly, I'm not so quick to dismiss them as being false, just because the accuser was diagnosed with a mental illness. A lot of mentally ill people have issues with honesty and reality, that's true but not all of them do and he could very well be telling the truth.

Especially considering that showbusiness is a field known for sexual exploitation in general anyway. It's that side of the industry that no one talks about much, but it's there.

So it's not really far-fetched to me that some guy was seeking out young males, offering them fame, with ulterior motives like that.

Am I saying it's true for sure? No, I don't know any of the people involved and I wasn't there. But I'm saying that if it is, it totally wouldn't surprise me at all.

And if it is true, I can't blame him for coming forward and saying something about it and feel like it's not anyone's place to attack him for it; hell, if I were in his position I'd have made a much bigger scene about it and contacted police and everything.

The part that has me giving him the side-eye, is that he's actually annoyed that he isn't involved in the current project. That damages his credibility alot because if these people sexually abused you, why would you want 'in' on something they're currently doing? Doesn't make sense.

Wrrrongggggg.

Boyz II Men was first place, I'm surprised there's even anyone in here seriously placing Blackstreet over them.

At their highest point, you couldn't get away from Boyz II Men and then they crossed over and it was even worse... they were a mega-act and pretty much universally known.

"I'll Make Love to You", ring a bell?

Blackstreet was more a genre-specific act, really popular in the black community but virtually unknown by the rest of the public until they had ONE crossover hit with Dre in it "No Diggity"...then they promptly fell off the world's radar all over again.

...Were you living under a rock then?

Side note - I have no horse in this race, most of Boyz II Men's catalog annoys the shit outta me, and most of Blackstreet's stuff never appealed to me that much barring "Joy" and "Before I Let You Go". Other than that, I pretty much ignored the existence of both bands, I was too busy listening to Michael Jackson and wishing I could get in his pants.

lol

I can't find any mention in this entire thread of anybody mentioning B2K never really being a hit. Lots of third tier, short-lived acts hit big and go away. A decade later when they attempt to make a comeback, nobody cares. That's all I was sayin'. If this one dude wasn't continually spreading a hate storm most people would have no clue what the rest of them were doing.
