She was a sex symbol long before she had anything to do with Prince. She was also popular in Miami Vice where she was Crockett's love interest.

Morning Train, Strut, For Your Eyes Only, and You Could Have Been With Me (among many others) were all before Prince.

I wish people would realize that association with Prince does not MAKE an artist's career - it ruins it.

Sheena Easton is one of those artists that really only crossed paths with Prince, and was not defined by her time with him.

What I really would like to know is...how do you invest so wisely that more than twenty years after your moderate success in the world of pop music you still have tons of money? Now THAT is something I really would like to know.

If more people in the biz followed her example there would be less rags to riches and back to rags stories out there. I'm glad she had the good sense to prepare for her life out of the spotlight.

Prince had very little to do with her success and shouldn't have been brought up in the first place.

She has been married 4 times. Don't know how much that helped.

I was only a marginal fan, if that. I remember her saying back in 80' or she wanted to have the kind of career that Barbra Streiand had. I don't know about that. But I think she may have been much more than a moderate success in the world of pop music in the early part of her career if you look a the numbers. Her brief association with Prince may actually be the answer to your question - she was smart and shrewd about where to find two new pennies to rub together to keep that career goin' and the cash.

never said she didn't have any success b4 Princey. Just Sheena being "Christened" by Prince put her on the lips of every tabloid & a top story on Entertainment Tonight. He made her interesting & not so boring anymore. Whether her character was murdered on a nighttime drama series is irrelevant...

Of course she's wealthy. She should be especially since "where she comes from the houses are of silver and the streets are paved with gold".

Actually I think she bigger and more mainstream before Prince. She had "Morning Train" her #1 single and the theme to a James Bond movie "For Your Eyes Only" which she even performed at the Academy Awards (and was nominated for). That was all before working with Prince. She had that duet with Kenny Rogers that hit too before Prince too.
