Her coupling with Prince was seen as a death knoll among her fans at the time. The backlash that she was working with prince was big. She went from sweet looking innocent girl next door , to vampy trampy rat tail sportin singing bout her box. America didn't like that.

Prissypants turning her into a sex symbol did nothing for her career in the usa.

Glad she invested smartly cause after P her career in music was pretty much over in the states.

Yeah I read on it. Even now hearing "Sugar Walls" I can quite understand why her fan base felt disgusted since her original fan base catered to her adult contemporary style. She did good with R&B audiences (and other audiences) for a while but after the '80s she didn't really recover. She faded after "What Comes Naturally" came out.

I don't know why people think Prince turning her into a sex symbol was actually benefactory or that it was even a successful plot. It's easy for someone to turn another person into a sex symbol. Just wished they did better music than... "Arms of Orion". barf

Investments is always a good thing when you wanna make sure you're settled for the rest of your life.

I like Arms of Orion!

But I agree that Prince's influence really didn't help her career, and in fact probably hurt it long-term. But it's hard to say what her career would have been like had she not worked with Prince. I think things were gonna wind down for her in America anyway.

Yeah it was the lead single for her "No Sound But a Heart" album but it was a massive failure, not even charting in the US, and the album's US Release ended up being cancelled.

If no one knew what the song meant, how could it have made her a sex symbol? It would be no different than singing I Am The Walrus.

R U obsessed with trying to debate everything I say in each thread? Geez!

Maybe you should try to stop being wrong on a regular basis.

I like the song "One Love",which should have been the second single."No Deposit,No Return" is another outstanding track.LA and Babyface supplied her with some top-notch material.

Prince's two songs are great,as well.

you said because of prince her career "flourshed into the statsisphere" when the reality is her association with Prince marked the end of her commercial career.

Just because it's a Prince fan site doesn't mean you're not going to get called on it if you just make stuff up.

Someone said in another thread that the Original 7ven didn't sell because Jam & Lewis got some bad karma for disobeying Prince by producing other acts in the early 1980's.

I will say that their collaboration on 101 is superb and sppoky and sexy at the same time. I like that cut better than the huge hit Sugar Walls.

Sheena Easton has appeared on a UK rich-list (again). Sheena is, of course, originally from Scotland though she has lived in the US for over 25 years.

According to the U.K.'s Sunday Times Magazine's "Rich List," Sheena ranked at No. 23 among females in the newspaper's annual listing, with income of £4 million ($6.4 million US)

Her estiamted total wealth is said to be over 62 million US dollars.

The bulk of Sheena's wealth has come from shrewed investments made during her commercial hey-day in the 1980's.

aint mad at her!!! she should calle t-boyz and t-braxton and teach them summthin.
