I've been getting into these recently:

Joni Mitchell - Miles of Aisles --- incredible sound quality on this
Joe Jackson - Summer in the City
Joe Jackson - Big World

Ella Fitzgerald Live in Berlin is a must-listen, too!

The very first live album that I bought and it's incredible thumbs up! The live versions of her early hits ("Love To Love You Baby","Spring Affair","Try Me,I Know We Can Make It",etc) are BETTER than the studio versions. She really brings these songs to life in a concert setting. As if all that wasn't enough, this 2-LP set contains the lengthy 'MacArthur Park Suite' which is just mindblowing. It's a damn shame that this landmark album hasn't been remastered yet.

Indeed. Pretty much any of Ella's live albums are great. For sheer volume you can't beat this one:

Ya know, and I've said this before, I REALLY need to invest some time into exploring this lady's body of work, aside from the popular War Years era.

I don't think I ever heard a SINGLE bad live performance from this woman, even during her later years. That rendition of "Lover Man" from the Andy Williams show was sublime.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I would love to own the Aretha one-Walk In The Light is on there and that has to be the greatest gospel song ever recorded imo.

Oh, that's why it's just a olive green square. I though it was like a plain album cover like The Beatles "White Album". lol
