Forbes Magazine Announces The Five Wealthiest Men In Hip-Hop

Forbes Magazine announces the 5 wealthiest men in hip-hop

Make this money, take this money, ain’t no way you gon’ take this from me…

Must be nice!

Back in 2007, Jay-Z, Diddy and 50 Cent released “I Get Money (The Forbes 1-2-3 Billionaire Remix).” The song was a celebration of the artists’ inclusion atop the first-ever Forbes Hip-Hop Cash Kings list, now an annual package on the genre’s top-earning artists. It seems fitting that those same three artists find themselves in an even more exclusive group—the Forbes Five, a short list of hip-hop’s wealthiest moguls.

Indeed, the original trio boasts a combined net worth well over a billion dollars, rendering their lyrical prognostications accurate. They’re joined by Dr. Dre, flush with cash from his Beats headphone line, and Cash Money Records cofounder Bryan “Birdman” Williams.

“One of my motivations in life is to be a billionaire,” said Birdman in a telephone interview with FORBES. “We’re going to keep working hard until we get our brand to be as big as possible. That’s the goal in life, that’s what I live for.”

See who landed where, and how much paper are they REALLY holding!

and the thing is that none of them could function on just their music, they would be broke.

barf And I wouldn't sleep with any one of them. I guess Diddy's got the upper-hand here but that's really not saying much.

Same...confused

Some women dont care about looks and just care about money. I am not speaking of the ones above (even though they have in the past) but most rappers just sleep around. To some women, if you have bank and they can be in your video, thats all that matters....

I didnt know Dre made that much. Im surprised to see Diddy ahead of Jay...good for him. Diddy was the first real rap businessman.

50 Cent is part owner & investor of the successful Vitamin Water franchise. Which is a part of the coke cola brand. He made a fortune from that alone. He is very smart business man..

Yall remember when Master P used to be worth like 350 million? He's the one who really started the hip hop business mogul thing with No Limit. He was the first rapper to be worth that much.

And I find it ironic that music isn't even what's making them millions.

P. wasn't the 1st. Russell Simmons was doing it long before he came on the scene.

P would be on that list, but since he's out the hip-hop eye now, they don't include him

Same with 50 his last album did kind of eh to... and as for Dre his album is not coming out till 2098 so.

He owns Cash Money. So, when Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj sell a lot of records, he gets PAID!

So, he's probably the only dude on the list who made most of his money from music.

That Vitamin Water deal must have been 50's saving grace because as far as I know none of his other brands are really selling in the US. When was the last time you saw someone wearing "G-Unit" gear or rocking his music or anyone else from his label?

Maybe he's smart enough to quietly invest his money to make money and diversify his portfolio.

The way the deal went down is that he did some promotion for them and in lieu of cash, he took stock options. The company was then bought by Coca Cola inc and he received a buyout from Coke.

^^^^THIS

Im not a big fan of Puffy but he was smart enough to know the music thing wont last and he made a prudent investment. I just surprised he's number #1 on the list.

I must confess I love Ciroc ...

WTF, not sure where you ARE, but Sean John has done well for YEARS. a fall off in the last 1-2 years, but its widely considered the best of the "urban" brands. Diddy has branched out to eyewear and Home (when I see your BEDDING in Macy's, you've broadened your scope indeed)

Diddy's cologne line for men smells great-nice products. My son wears em wink I think he is very smart when it comes to business matters along with JayZ. Bird Man and 50 are just lucky in that their business matters and artist have paid off for them. Out of all these guys I think Dr. Dre is the smartest with just signing Eminem and 50 he gets paid off them and everybody they sign. Dude is smart as hell and never needs to make another cd and will still be rich as fuck. I think JayZ is still making music just cuz he's a great rapper and he loves it cuz he doesn't have to do shit else either! Blue Ivy's life is set lol Oh yeah and out of all these products Diddy's are the best and they're well done.
