Soundgarden's First New Song in 15 Years, "Live to Rise"
April 1, 2012
Soundgarden's Live to Rise, the legendary Seattle band's first new song in 15 years, will be the end credit track on The Avengers, Joss Whedon's highly anticipated summer movie based on the Marvel Comics superheroes.
The song will appear on Avengers Assemble, a compilation of tunes inspired by the film. It's out May 1, along with The Avengers soundtrack containing Alan Silvestri's score.
Best known for such '90s rock hits as Black Hole Sun, My Wave, Spoonman and Blow Up the Outside World, Soundgarden has sold 21 million records worldwide. Since reuniting in 2010, the Grammy-winning group has released its first retrospective, Telephantasm, and first live album, Live on the I-5. A new studio album is due by year's end.

Dang it...the snippet cut off before I could hear Chris Cornell scream his lungs out. Otherwise, I like what I'm hearing. Hopefully they will be churning out a new album. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. | |
