STYLISTICS VS THE DRAMATICS Which group had more top 10 hits, sold more albums, had more sex appeal, and had the better lead vocalist?
[img:$uid]http://www.tothemoonnback.com/music_pics/stylistics5.gif[/img:$uid] The Stylistics
[img:$uid]http://superdeluxe.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/the_dramatics.jpg[/img:$uid] I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

I have a feeling orgers are going to lean towards The Dramatics. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

The Dramatics had multiple leads, not just one. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I thought it was just ron banks and lenny mayes. who else sung lead? I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

There was also Wee Gee Howard and L.J. Reynolds. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I can't answer any of those questions, but based on whose songs I'm most familiar with and that have touched me more overall, I'll be the first and hopefully not the last to claim The Stylistics!! Kinda impartial to the falsetto which leads to enjoying Russell Tompkins. I like The Dramatics, but mostly for two songs: In the Rain and Watchcha See is Whatcha Get. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."

I the menz with the falsetto! That's how I got to the Org, (Prince and his falsetto). I gotta go with The Stylistics, all day.

I fucks with anyone who reps Detroit because it seems Detroit always has the bomb ass musicians and such and the Dramatics definitely had that Detroit swagger about them but I have to go with the Stylistics just because Russell Thompson, Jr. was the greatest to ever sing falsetto.

The Dramatics. These songs alone trump anything the Stylistics put out...even though I do like the Stylistics.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Get Up Get Down was one of the greatest tracks of early '70s funk...

Damn it is hard cuz the Stylistics had some pretty strong tunes too.

I love the music of both groups but if I was a grown ass woman during that time....aint none of them Dramatics would have played with the kitty kat but 3 of them Stylistics coulda got some. Fine! I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

Girl don't knock average looking men. You know the rule, handsome men are good to look at but to get your back broke off on some acrobatical shit, you need a good ugly man...so them Dramatics could've got it!!! Plus they liked to sing all hard and aggressive...and you know how them aggressive sanging menfolk do.... I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I fucked one butt ass ugly man once in my life believing that shit and it was the worst sex ever. That fool got all tired after like 4 minutes and he looked all demonized when he came. Shit scared me. I felt violated and deceived. He had back fat too. I didn't know men could get back fat. I hate men clothes cuz they hide shit...make a dude look like he live at the gym when he really outside looking in.
I love a good aggressive man voice. That's why I like the Dramatics but....they just aint fuckable IMO. They dressed real nice tho. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

I love both groups. Get Up And Get Down is some of that bad ass 70's blaxploitation funk that you can't help but groove too but i would give the Stylistics the nudge because of Russell and i remember as a kid my mom listening to all her Stylistics 45's. Linda Creed wrote some amazing songs for them and they still sound great today. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Some of the ladies at my job have said they can respect an ugly guy with confidence. Because he'll just keep trying and trying until eventually a woman will say yes.
..but to answer the question, I'm going with who I heard first..The Stylistics. The Dramatics were great too but "People Make The World Go Around" seals my vote.

I like both groups but for nostalgia's sake I have to go with the Stylistics: they were a staple on radio when I was little and I remember hearing their songs the most. Y'all got me over here ready to make a "Quiet Storm" mix before I go to bed with these two groups

The Dramatics had great songs, but the Stylistics had great albums. Their debut and its follow-up are all killer, no filler. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis
