70% of your albums I haven't heard yet. But since I have a lot of respect for the ones you mention I know (Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie, Marvin, Prince of couse), but more importantly your not so common choices that I loved (Donny Hathaway, Steely Dan, Earth Wind & Fire), you got me curious to seek the rest of your list.

Curious you're a fan of both Kylie Minogue, Metallica and U2. I felt they were kind of polarizing artists, didn't think of seeing them together. Curious mix.

well, dance/pop and metal were (and probably still are) my fav genres when I was a teen, I need to be in touch with both my masculine and femenine side lol

I tried to think of only the albums that I absolutely love and to keep the same standards for every decade. Thus I mentioned more albums in some decades than the others.

I'm also a big fan of jazz, but I think it's absurd to rank it amongst "popular" music. There are ranks by some magazines that list "popular" records and put amongst them some 7 jazz/world music albums. It's like putting it together with Classical music. I can't compare these genres.
