Bounce has shown Gene performing this on Soul Train several times. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. I remember staying up late waiting for Gene Chandler to sing this on the Midnight Special. Well I didn't make it, fell asleep but woke in just in time to catch the last minute or so. Love this song!!! Do you remember lying in bed
