Duff Mckagan, Slash, Steven Adler, Matt Sorum, and Gilby Clarke. Myles Kennedy Vocals.
sorry but this version og GNR sounds LIGHT YEARS better than that imitation band that Axl has been dragging along on tours.

Love them or hate them they were arguably the most successful and influential American hard rock band of the '70s. Their only competition being Aerosmith (who have already been inducted). They were commercially successful and very influential on the hard rock/heavy metal bands of the eighties and nineties.
There is no creduble argument for keeping them out of the rock and roll hall of fame but it's not surprising. It took the dickheads that make the decisions fifteen years before Alice Cooper got in. That's fucked up. Both Alice and Kiss should have been inducted the first year they were eligible (1994 for Alice, 1999 for Kiss).

Kiss is going to get in. It will be in a year where there are no other "marquis" bands, so the entire show will be about them.

I'd argue that the Stones, Zeppelin, the Who, and Pink Floyd were all more successful and influential in the '70s and that KISS were less influential to bands in the '80s than the glam rock acts that KISS were aping.

Maybe they were, particularly in the early seventies, but you are ignoring a key word in my post: American. All of the groups you mentioned are British. Plus they are all in the rock and roll hall of fame already so isn't it past time that Kiss were as well?
As far as Kiss' influence on later generations many notable guitarists of the eighties and nineties cite Ace as a primary influence. In a way they were like the Beatles. They weren't great musicians but they were extremely popular and influenced many kids to pick up guitars and start their own bands.
Shit, I just looked at some pictures and it appears that the Faces had Mick Hucknall singing with them. Where was Rod Stewart?
He was sick with the flu so he was unable to attend.
Yeah. How convenient! Another former leadsinger with a big head. Ronnie is there whenever Rod needs him... but the other way round!? They wanted to do a reunion tour, but Rod bailed on them and they got Hucknall. Good for them for getting another singer instead of waiting for years on end with the the singer dying on them.

As much as I loathe them I can kind of understand Rod wanting to milk those songbook albums but it would be great to have a Faces reunion and hear him singing real rock music again.
The Axl-less lineup also performed "Mr. Brownstone" and "Paradise City" at the induction ceremony. I'm looking for quality footage of said performances.
At the end of the ceremony, Chris Rock apparently said, "Even if Axl said he would come, he wouldn't be here yet anyways."
I didn't think Adler could even hold a pair of drumsticks these days his brain is so shot, much less actually play. Glad he made it up onstage though, Sorum's about as generic as drummers get.
